A strange thing has happened with Waluigi over the years. He started out basically hated by the entire Nintendo community. He was the butt of jokes about how useless he was. How lazy he was. How nobody cared about him. How he wasnít a real character, but a lazy pun brought to life just to give Wario a doubles partner in Mario Tennis... (more)

I am currently replaying Metroid Prime for the fourth time (I'm very close to the end) and it still stands as one of my all-time favorite games. Iím probably not going to replay Metroid Prime 2 and 3 right now, but theyíre also up there, although I feel like neither quite matched the brilliance of the original. So it got me thinking about the upcoming Metroid Prime 4 and what I would like to see out of it. Obviously a large amount of what I would like to see out of it is to just keep doing what worked in the original trilogy, which was a lot. But there are definitely places for improvement and expanding the franchise as well, and that is what this list is about... (more)

After a full 100 hours, Iíd finally conqured Octopath Traveler to 100% completion the other day. While I could talk at length about the game for hours, this Top Ten is focusing entirely on what I feel is its strongest asset: the music. As a game composer, I have a particular appreciation for video game OSTs, and Octopath Travelerís is absolutely among the best Iíve ever heard! Relative newcomer composer Yasutomo Nishiki saw it fitting to craft a massive, melody-driven soundtrack for this game, and have the entirety of the gameís songs performed by live musicians. I cannot overstate how much this level of care added to the game, particularly when the music actively elevates other aspects of Octopath (such as its writing and storytelling). It was quite a task to narrow down the choices to a mere ten, but here they are!.. (more)

It's that time of year again! Nintendo have announced a new entry into the Super Smash Bros. series with the incredibly creative title of Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. Although we know next to nothing about it, rest assured it will contain a batch of new characters besides just Splatoon's Inklings shown in the reveal... (more)

Wow, this was quite the year! While I think the past couple years may have had more cream-of-the-crop/outstanding games at the top, I can't remember a year with this many games that were worth playing. Some years it is difficult to come up with a full list of 10 games that I really enjoyed, whereas for 2017 I could easily go 20-deep with games I feel strongly about. It's impossible to play everything, but I pretty much got to play everything I was interested in last year, with the exception of Nioh... (more)

I played a LOT of new games in 2017. In fact, it's one of the few years in recent memory where I can say that I've played mostly new games. That's with good reason; 2017 saw a ridiculous number of great games come out in dense clusters. Despite a lot of industry bullshit, I think 2017 will be remembered as one of the best years for games from a pure software perspective. I played enough good games this year that I could make a top 45 list without any questionable inclusions. And this is despite having missed some of they year's biggest hits!.. (more)

Just moments ago I beat The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. So yes, that's rightÖ the last ten or so days have been lacking in any Splatoon because Zelda sucked me in. I'm glad I could complete this adventure before Breath of the Wild later this week. I had beaten The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess originally on the Wii and so as I went through this again, I wanted to rank the dungeons in order of my own personal preference. Since I was re-experiencing these, I thought it was as good of a time as ever to put together such a thing. Really I just want to talk a little Zelda before Zelda comes out. So that said, hate it or love it, here's my list... (more)

Hi guys. Been a while since I've written a Top 10. Been a while since I've written anything. I may have forgotten how to write at all. Let's see. I'm going to clear my thoughts and just write the first thing that comes to mind... (more)

Well, that was exciting wasnít it? Iím not going to get into commentary on whether Nintendo did what they had to do to get the masses excited about their console, because Iím not the best at predicting what the masses want nowadays so itíd be rather useless speculation. Honestly I have no idea how well this sucker is going to do. All I can do is speak for myself, so here are my top 10 games from the Nintendo Switch presentation last night... (more)
