Maybe they change the date.

I own the Rathian. I have the deed to the character. But she still won't drop any damned Rubies!

I just updated my backlog stuff. What the hell, right? It took a long time.

@anandxxx

I was doing each game individually, but if you look at your entire list at once, you can quickly change the distinction for each game. I did this after going unit by unit through three pages of games. Blah. So yeah, fix your entire list! To Do! Gave Up!

--Rathians will hate me forever. We just don't jive.

@anandxxx
Over on GAF people said that you have better chances of getting Rubies when you do the Double Trouble event quest.
12/23/10, 00:04
Double Trouble, eh??

@Mr_Mustache
Already done! I did them a page at a time. FOR 10 PAGES.
12/23/10, 00:10
I can't believe how you guys all have Bird Wyvern Gems and you don't need them for anything. Bollocks!

@anandxxx

You must've done something wrong..

spoilers:

actually ian "events" have more chance for rubies... otherwise yes. the hr51 double trouble is good as both ian and rath are very easy in that quest (half HP too). ian is predictable, very predictable

bird gems are a PAIN (not as much of a pain as agn claws+ or jhen+ stuff) but i needed 8 of them to complete some weapons (sleep lance "azure something") and 3 armors... nightmare... just do jump for jaggi. capture one or both. hope for ultra lucky cat food skill... you'll get some quick

as of now, i think gunner or blade uragaan (best for defense - made for hammerers & gunners) , ian+( great set for newly high rank folks who are grinding uragaan), ingot (perfect vs. ian's wind), vangis (for attack, expert players who want quick fights)) , and barioth (evade. grreat 4 lance folks)) are the essential/best sets. i also like damascus

jaggi, baggi, giggi, agn (a joke), yamato, ranger, guild (yuck), diablos (besides when used against agn mixed with urag), rath (just eat and drink cold drink), lagi (was the most popular... just use ala or equip vs. caedus), alatreon (if only it had wide range...), and especially gobul sets are worthless

helios is good for wide range.. but that's it

I also like the hunter+ set. love the thrill

@Fabz

How is evade good for a lance? Could you explain that to me? I play absolute defense, especially against the larger bosses. I find it's easier to block than it is to unsheathe your weapon and leave yourself open for attacks, expecially for monsters that have long/mid range attacks.
12/23/10, 15:52
@Tranquilo

I'm constantly running around with Sword N Shiled. Lance blocks like EVERYTHING though. You're basically a turtle.
12/23/10, 22:54
@Tranquiloevasion is a good skill for any weapon if you know how to use it. however guard+2 is a skill made for lancing and imo a skill that every lancer should have. not only does ir remove knockback when blocking(enables you to counter attack anything), but it also removes chip damage when blocking.

counter lancing is the most effective form of lancing(besides a few hr500+ that can evade lance like a mf), and its very easy to learn.

@brass

Like you said though, I'd rather have Guard for blocking than evasion for... evading (redundant much?) if I'm using a lance. Also, there are attacks that you can't physically counter like agnaktor's lazer (I know what you mean though).
12/24/10, 15:11
I also noticed that ala's fire bomb is unblockable if you get hit before it lands but with the guard up skill allows you to block that, agnaktor's lazer, and gigginox's poison slam.
12/24/10, 15:36
I just built a Giggi hunting set with Poison Negation. Cooool...
12/25/10, 01:54
looks great aesthetically
12/25/10, 05:47
Alright! Tomorrow I'll get to join you all again!
12/25/10, 06:06
I just defeated Alatreon to reach HR 51 and I'm happy to let you know I did it without sleep bombing, even though I did finish the uragaan set. Of course big ups to Gale, Cody and Gladius who did 95% of the work.

@Tranquilo

Congratulations on the 51'er.

Does it kinda stink that you feel like you didn't do anything? I, too, feel like I side-carred it a little bit. Ah well.
12/26/10, 00:48
@Mr_Mustache
You totally side-carred it. It was all me. And by me, I mean Razz. But I did keep my faints down. And I was blowin' them horns like Dizzy Gillespie.
12/26/10, 00:56
@anandxxx

I think I did my part though. And I used those awesome Farcasters. For yours, I was more effective dropping huge bombs. Do you have any regrets going the SB route, or is it something that you don't feel so bad about after beating him legit one mission prior, and knowing that you'll do it again someday (probably helping out Big Mike)?

--Hows next week look?
12/26/10, 00:57
Nah, I don't care. I didn't have the equipment to really make a dent in him at the time, anyway. And I didn't want to be capped.

Next week looks alright, I guess. I am temporarily free from baby-sitting and seeing-old-friends duties.
