Well that's why I'm not impressed. Some of it sounded too cartoony and playful. Then again, I just rewatched it with higher volume and the other half sounds a lot better. Might be a mixed bag...like a Zelda game. I didn't like the Mine Cart Madness track at all but then again I never liked the original track either.
Its looking really good. I'm disappointed in the music, though. I wish Nintendo wouldn't use their usual people so much. Contract somebody out who ISN'T afraid to use some real instruments. As soon as they said the guy that did Metroid's music was in charge of this I was worried. It has some great music, but organic it is not. Some of it just sounds bad, while some sounds alright. I hope it works better in-game and in a video...

Otherwise, though, the game looks really nice!
Yeah, I agree. The synth barely sounds better than the SNES, and unlike a game like Metroid Prime, DKC could DEFINITELY benefit from live instruments. I guess Mario Galaxy was the exception rather than the norm...
The music sounds alright to me from what we've heard so far, but I'll wait until I have the game in my hands to judge it.
The animation is just so well done. The foregrounds, the backgrounds, the characters and enemies. Everything looks super polished and smooth as butter.
This also has to be the least aliased game I've seen running on the Wii. Retro minimized jaggies very well in Corruption, but this is on a different level.
All the intricate detail that I've come to expect from Retro is present. Looks fantastic.
