I don't know whats going on. Maybe instead of forcing one we should just get "back to basics?" I was thinking about tonight, too, but I already feel tired for some reason. And last night didn't work either.
Maybe we can all come out swingin' on Wednesday/Thursday, or something.
I'm steady on my way to complete my objective to own every lance in the game. Of course I mean every lance outside of maybe four or five that are essentially the same thing, like Doom Crown and Chaos Crown. The only difference between the two is that one is weaker (not significantly) in raw damage but has more affinity. Going for literally EVERY lance would be a waste of time and effort.
Not counting subtle variations, I now own 10 of the 18 (fully upgraded) lances available in the game. I also have four more more that I need to upgrade (Toxic Javelin, Agnaktor Firelance, High Undertaker and Diablos Spear). That pretty much only leaves me with the coliseum series, jho's lance, shark attack and Skyscraper which I really have no control over. I just hope to get lucky.
I have a warchest of Sword/Shields, but I haven't really added anything recently. I think I got my Hardbosche last month, but there was a long dry spell before that. Going after "the whole set" is tough! Good luck, sir.
Thank you, sir. I just upgraded the Toxic Javelin. I spent most of today getting tickets from the Jho event. Most of the people I met were honestly not very good and I ended up succeeding only three times out of like ten. I abandoned about three or four times, mind you.
A), I don't like to give up at anything, and B), it simply feels dishonest. "Oh, we're not going to win, so pull the plug." Haha, thats NOT the way it works in real life. Sure, its a videogame, but there should be some degree of RISK/reward. Knowing you can back out after two faints and start from scratch is pretty "ehhhh." Theres not many arguments that would make me see your side of things.
And its not just you; I remember Fabz mentioning some items being very rare later on, and using them up in a failed mission isn't worth it. That stuff just doesn't sit too well with me. Thats why there are things like "Paw Passes" and whatnot. Restock your pantry and try again.
I never used to abandon (I didn't even realize that you could), but keeping your hard-won Sonic/Flash/Large Bombs/Traps/Tranqs/Potions is pretty hard to resist.
I still don't abandon, I guess. But I am forced to end via subquest when I'm trying to solo stuff.
I don't really like abandoning myself. I think it was a couple of days ago, I was playing double trouble HR 51 with two other guys. I was playing without much care at that time and I ended up fainting twice (this was still very early in the quest) and this guys decided to abandon. I don't hold it against him personally but I think it's a little messed up that he just up and left like that. Anyway the other guys and I kept going. At one point he said not to worry since he had it. I took that personally and said "do not patronize me" and that's when the fire in my eye ignited. We eventually succeeded in that hunt.
The three times or so I abandoned the other day, were due to everybody else leaving. It's kind of like when you plan to go out with your friends for a group activity. Do you still go after they left you high and dry? I like a challenge as much as the next guy but sometimes its just not worth it, not really because of resources, since I can readily stock up on those but time, like when you know that the hunt is going nowhere.
