Abyss is $1.99 and looks like something I could get into. The voice is annoying, and it's based on a DSiware title so I guess I can't expect too much, but still, it's the kind of stuff I find appealing.

Is Mega Man Xtreme like the other MM GB games in that it gives semi-new levels and boss arrangements? Or is it more of a port?

@GameDadGrantYou're right. I didn't have the official PR, and I thought Level-5 published those for some odd reason. Fixed the OP.

@TriforceBunIt's more like the Gameboy Mega Man games. Capcom probably realized they couldn't do a proper 8-bit port of this game, so they Gameboy-ized it. @ludist210Oh okay, cool. It was no big deal, I was just confused for a second.

@GameDadGrantThat sounds pretty good, but I'm still wondering how the heck you dash in the game. The way I like playing MMX is setting dash to one of the shoulder buttons, and I'm pretty much doing it constantly throughout the entire game. I can't imagine a setup with two buttons that'd make it comfortable to dash jump off walls and such...

@TriforceBunDouble-tap forward to dash. But as I said in the other thread, the level design is tweaked so you don't have to dash all that often. I'm like you, where I'm pretty much always dashing in the X games (and the Mega Man Zero games), but I don't recall feeling like I missed the shoulder-button dash from the SNES classic. Guess we'll see if that feeling still holds up. EDIT: You don't have to dash off of a wall in this game, IIRC.

I have never played a Mega Man game before.

Is Xtreme worth playing if I've already played X to death? Seriously, I think I've completed it more than ten times.

@WrathOfSamus777@ludist210I'm not sure to recommend it to you. On one hand, you're obviously a super-fan of the SNES game, so you apparently really like the material. But on the other, this isn't quite the same thing so you might be put off by the differences.

@TriforceBunBy the way, you can also set 'DASH' to the START button. If you like.

@GameDadGrantIsn't Xtreme 2 a bit different? I know it shares Mavericks but it also has Zero (playable separately for the first time?). Any other notable differences aside from level design?

@GameDadGrant Can't you re-map buttons on the 3DS VC like you can on Wii U? It's been a while since I played the 3DS VC, but I feel like you could...

Why in the world does Nintendo go through periods of no retail games and then release two on the same day? On the same system, even! Regardless, both look hawt.

@CPA WeiUnfortunately, it's been too long since I last played Xtreme 2, so I don't remember it all that well. And somehow, I lost my original cartridge, which I thought I had in my basement, but can't locate. @nate38No, you can't re-map buttons on the 3DS Virtual Console.
