amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. @ploot You forgot to mention the fact that the Smash Kirby amiibo is basically worthless now because it can't be used to access the UFO power in Kirby Robobot which makes its Kirby series counterpart blatantly superior.

While I might only get Waddle Dee of the Kirby line…

I like the three-pack because in the game there is so much variety in the Splatoon characters. I'd love having a larger fleet in this case.

I've heard someone say, "Would Nintendo do this with Smash color variants?" and with the exception of one specific Pac-Man version, I wouldn't bother with any of those.

When are we going to get Cloud and Bayonetta figurines?

No announcements yet, which I find surprising. Last month we had the last Smash ones release and usually the announcements overlap. Six weeks since a Smash amiibo with no news of others is peculiar.

The squid sisters will be mine...

As for Bayo and Cloud, I imagine they're just taking their time to find the most inconvenient retailer exclusive possible...

@ploot Yeah, the Squid Sisters should make nice display figures for fans. The in-game functionality remains incredibly stupid of course, but that may be for the best. I recall hearing these rumoured or leaked or whatever a while back, so I was wondering when they'd show up.

I agree the colour swap thing is kinda lame at this point. The time for an alternate choice would have been at the same time as the other pack. I hope that Splat2n has unique characters in it (and maybe even playable Callie and Marie!).

Oh wow, new Splatoon stuff. Hmm..

The functionality might be less than ideal, but at least it makes sense I suppose. If their whole thing was that they were pop-stars of some sort, it works that they would unlock videos. It might be kind of weird to have them playable because depending on how much extra stuff you're wearing it might not even be visible.

My wife really dislikes the Squid Sisters, so we'll see how well the Amiibos go. I think they look awesome!

@Mr_Mustache, as far as I can tell it's their poses when they finish the announcements. I admit it's ridiculous, but fun. Also, she's a Tom Nook fan, so not the best judge of computer character

Amazon has summer isabelle and all four of the Kirby series amiibo for pre-order. Get them while they're hot!

Amen. I nabbed them immediately but I knew I didn't have to. Still not sure I'm keeping the whole Kirby krew.

The second Amazon puts the Squid Sisters and all that Splatoon amiibo up I'll probably nab those and cancel my Best Buy pre-order.
