The news spilling out of today's announcement is ever flowing and Sega has not stopped at 7am. Sega announced this morning that two new "old" colors were coming to the 3DS lineup. This is to commemorate their takeover, err... purchase of Nintendo. The colors are Hedgehog Blue and Echidna Red. Don't be fooled by the picture alone as you have to play them to believe them.


In addition, Sega has announced it is bringing back something missing from the newest 3DS iterations, a cartridge slot! Oh yes! This slot will play Game Gear games and drain the battery power of your 3DS nice and quickly! Check out that back-lit color screen too!

The tentative release date for the new colors is 9/9/2013, exactly fourteen years after the Dreamcast!

Hajime Satomi was quoted as saying, "Now you're playing with... SEGA!" (and yes, he did it in that good ol' SEGA! yell we all know and love)

SEGA's brilliance shines through once again! Looks like I can throw out my old 3DS at last (finally); I can already feel my gaming skills increase tenfold just by looking at that sweet Hedgehog Blue.

I would buy a Hedgehog Blue system (it looks slick as fuck), but then I'd get depressed by the fact that I have no quality Sonic titles to play on the system.

That is probably a good idea if Sega ever makes a Sonic game for 3DS, I bet Sega fans would buy up hardware that says SEGA on it lol

I missed it, Fink; was it more of the relaxing "Seeeeeehg-ahhhhhhhh" or "SEGA!!!!" I love both equally, and I refuse to choose my favorite.
