Before he became a world-renowned archaeologist, Hershel Layton was an esteemed university professor and all-around classy English gent. When he receives a cryptic letter from Clark Triton, an old university friend, he immediately travels to the remote village of Misthallery to lend a hand.
With his assistant, Emmy, in tow, Professor Layton arrives in town to find it threatened by a menacing phantom. Along the way he will meet the young Luke Triton, destined to become his apprentice, and solve a slew of dark mysteries in the town of Misthallery.
