amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. We'll also use this thread for informing the forums about upcoming news regarding new waves of amiibo or new compatibility. Enjoy! Tell us which amiibo you're planning to get! To get the party started, here are the various waves of amiibo on their way, compatibility information from Nintendo's website, and various links to other threads regarding amiibo. Known amiibo

@plootOk, that makes sense. For a moment there, I thought Stache was losing his mind. ha,ha...only kidding. Seriously, I just assumed Rob had no interest in the Chibi Robo amiibo since all his games this generation have been on the 3ds. I must say, I love the Falco amiibo! I preordered him several weeks back and picked him up last night at Best Buy. Man, the attention to detail is fantastic. Both Fox and Falco are amongst my favorite amiibos due to being very detailed. It would be nice to have a Peppy and Slippy amiibo to round out all the major players in Starfox 0. Even if Nintendo manufactured a Fox & Falco specifically for Starfox 0, I would buy both characters again. Edit: I have no interest in Lottie, but noticed Dr Fink mentioned that she wouldn't be available until sunday, Nov. 22. Now, isn't that a bunch of BS. You know she was in the shipment with the Falco amiibos. Why make people wait and/or make two separate trips, that is, if those who preordered Lottie also preodered Falco. |

I had to take my son to Walmart to pick up a SD card for his 3ds sincd his was filled up. First, Walmart had a great deal on SD cards, got my son a 16gb for his 3ds for only $5!! Im alreay upto 16gb in my 3ds, so I picked up the last 32gb card and it as well was only $5!! The guy who waited on us said the sd cards were on sale over the weekend, so we got very lucky. I was surprised both the 16 & 32gb were on sale for $5.
Then, my luck went a little farther. As I was walking towards the videogame section, I noticed a rack full of the modern colored pixel Mario amiibo! I had no idea that the modern pixel Mario amiibo was finally released in the states. There was at least 15-20 of them on the rack. I quickly snagged mine, full of joy like some little kid. I'm assuming that the modern pixel Mario amiibo is exclusive to walmart, since the only other way to acquire him in the states was to buy the Wii U bundle that included him at Walmart, plus we had just stopped at Best Buy to check out some mechanical keyboards and made a quick stop at Target, when we checked the amiibo sections at both stores, neither store had the modern pixel mario.
So, if anyone is wanting the modern pixel mario amiibo, go no to your local walmart. Like I mentioned, there was a fair amount of him still in stock. I'm assuming he has been in stock since Friday. There is actually two Super Walmarts in my area, I never checked the other walmart. I would gladly pick up a few extras, for anyone who cannot find him at your local walmart. So, once again, I have all the amiibos that I've been wanting. There is still many of the animal crossing amiibos, plus the 3 pack Mii fighter amiibos are in stock at my local stores, which is a first since they have been released. It only took a year, but it looks like Nintendo has finally got a grip on the amiibo situation. Though, there are still a few amiibos that Nintendo still needs to work on, like Pit, Ike, Lucario and Robin. My one son now wants Pit and Ike for Xmas, so I'll probably have to import those two or check either ebay & amazon. I have not checked the prices on those amiibos lately, but the last time I had price checked them, which was late summer, I noticed the online prices had come down considerably. Looks like the scalpers are having to sell their amiibos at rock bottom prices since Nintendo has been able to fix the supply issue. That puts a warm feeling in my heart.
I guess when I order his Pit & Ike, I will finally break down and buy me a Wii Fit Trainer, since I noticed she was selling for only a few bucks above the normal suggested retail price of $12.99. I'm glad I was able to wait and hold off on many of these amiibos, most I acquired for the suggested retail pricing and the ones I did have to pay extra for, it was only for a few dollars more. I'd hold off on the Pit & Ike amiibos, but with Xmas less than a month away, I feel I'd better order them now. I'll do a little investigating, to determine if importing them will be less expensive than ordering from someone here in the states. |
