amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. We'll also use this thread for informing the forums about upcoming news regarding new waves of amiibo or new compatibility. Enjoy! Tell us which amiibo you're planning to get! I've used steel wool before with some nice results. But yeah, that level grit of sand paper will do wonders.

Just remember (though you already may know this) the key is to go unbelievably lightly over 50 attempts rather than apply any significant pressure and ruin the plastic for good. It will take forever and a day, but the end results are worth it. :)

EDIT: Hey isn't it time to "will add later" those other amiibo sets?! I like the pictures! Want more! :)

But on the bright side, I did sell a CD on Amazon to pay for it. You may be thinking, "A CD? Really?" But not just any CD. The Sonic Adventure OST Digi-Log Conversion. I got $100 for it. Snagged that guy for $35 after tax (I had a coupon) and am using the rest to pay some bills. I am so weak...

If they did any more Mega amiibo, my wallet would be in trouble. This is really the only one that intrigues me though...the rest big would just be an eyesore.

Nice to hear AC Amiibo Festival is fun. The wife got it for me, but I'm gonna have to wait til Christmas to play it. Looking forward to it.

And I didn't think I'd have much interest in the AC Amiibos, but I have to admit, they're kinda cool. Hope my wife gets me the rest of those as well!

Yeah, it's Mega Yarn Yoshi. It wasn't at my usual TRU on Sunday afternoon, but one a few miles down the road from me had a bunch left on Monday morning.

I was at one of the closer(45 miles from my house) Toys R Us early this morning, only cause I was visiting a friend. Actually, there are two different TRUs stores, both 45 miles aways, one to my north, other to my south. I figured, lets just see what amiibos are available....WOW! Unf@ckingbelievable! There was Villagers, Starfox, Shulk, Ness, kirby, king de,de, de, Meta Knight, Capt Falcon, MewTwo, Greninja, Mii Fighter 3 Pack, all the new Animal Crossing amiibos, all 3 colored yarn yoshis, Mega Yarn Yoshi, Boy & Girl Inkling, The Splatoon 3 pack, Toad, Bowser Jr, Olimar, any common amiibo as well, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, little Mac, Wario, pacman ect,ect,ect. Im not talking just one or two of each, tons of each one they had available.

Hell, it would probably made more sense to list the ones they didn't have in stock, which were Pit, Ike, Robin, Lucina, Wii Fit Trainer(figures, I've said I'd never buy her, but I would have, if she was available), actually, no Charizards. Seriously, I believe these were the only ones not available.

Soooo, I figured I might as well buy the Mii Fighter 3 Pack since I've never seen it in the wild. I still did not buy mega yarn yoshi, I just don't feel the need since I own all three of the colored ones. I did not buy any Animal Crossing amiibos, which leads me into a little rant. I'll be honest, I was wanting to buy Tom Nook(racoon) & KK Slider(white/black guitar playing dog). I've never played any of the AC games, but I know enough about them to know that Nook is the dude that takes all your money and KK Slider is the cool guitar playing dog. What was cool, TRUs was having a buy 2 for $22 on all single amiibos. I had T Nook in my hands, then go looking for Slider, and WTF, I can only buy him in a 3 pack that contains two freakish looking cow characters, one blue the other pink! I think its bullsh!t that NoA would stick KK Slider, a character that they know is very popular and most people would want to buy him, in with a couple of, who gives a rat's @ss about these freaky cows, most people would probably pass up,other than collectors. BUT NOOOOOOO, we are forced to buy them if we want Slider. I guess I will have to import Slider. I'm assuming he is sold by himself everywhere else in the world..and if not, then I guess I'll never own him.

It really sucks that there are no Toys R Us where I live, cause from the couple times I've checked them out, they've been loaded with amiibos. I'd love to help people out if they needed any of the amiibos they had in stock, but I typically never visit either store,(yea,I know they are only 45 minutes away, they are not like hours away, but still....) just so happened I was visiting a friend and I noticed the Toy R Us in his town. I'm assuming most Toys R Us have huge stock of amiibos, like this one store, especially since this store isn't located in a densely populated area.

That super-fine sand paper, totally worked, my KK is looking perfect! Luckily he's kind of a matte finish and not glossy or I don't think it would have worked as well. The only hitch was that I accidentally sanded off some of his eyebrow, but I was able to fix it with a .1 micron pen so all good.

Hmm.... the only easily accessible Toys R Us near me is the one in Times Square and it's a total mob scene! Still worth a try I guess.

Nice find! I live too far from a TRU to be able to make it to one if they do have stock of the amiibo I want. If I could get my hands on a Mega Yarn Yoshi id buy it. I feel I'll regret it if I dont. However I'm too far from TRU, and I called monday to no luck amyway. I jut bought a house so I guess maybe u don't need one butan, he's so huge. Just looks epic.

I do live the Animal Crossing amiibo thoigh. Those look so nice I wish Nintendo would somehow allow you to buy your favorite characters but there are so many characters that I can't imagine actual villagers as amiino. Just your playable character and the major folka.

Both Falco and Lottie are on Friday, yes? If I put in an order on Best Buy.com to pick up at my store, what is going to happen? Never did that before. And it should be paid for in full already, yes?

Lottie is Sunday I believe. I think I'll plan to go out and nab her and then get breakfast.

I did a pick up at store for Meta Knight through Best Buy and it was just fine. Pickup and just had to show the same card I used on the web. Can't remember if I paid it then or earlier but either way it should be fine for you.

It's pretty crazy how different the release schedule is between the U.S. and Canada now.
Lottie is sitting on my shelf, but the Mii Fighters aren't available yet.

I guess the staggering is good for stock levels. Are Lottie's just freely available for you? Was she an exclusive? Can't wait to get her and round out the first 8 AC characters. They're all so stellar, especially K.K. Slider.

Lottie was Best Buy exclusive.
The Mii Fighters are EB (Gamestop) exclusives here.

K.K. Slider is AMAZING, and I appreciate Nook as well.
I really want Isabelle and her brother, but I have no interest in the game. I hope they release separately sometime.

I guess Chibi Robo is up tomorrow as an Amazon exclusive, 2pm PST. Lovely, I'll be at work.

I didn't either until I let my daughter play it with us...and she loves it. So I like it. It's not the greatest game in the world, but it's all right in my book for that reason.

Well, if there are still Mega Yoshis available next time I go to TRUs, I'll snag one for you. If you already find one by then, no biggie. I'll either keep him or maybe sell him on ebay. It does suck that the closest ToysRUs is 45 miles, cause it seems Nintendo is stocking them much better than any other retail store.

If anyone here comes across a Wii Fit Trainer, I would be interested. I might as well 'cave-in' and buy her eventually since I own all the Smash Amiibos that have been released.

Sheeeeeyt, did anyone get Chibi Robo? Just realized its live right now..and I can't go after it now..

I don't understand....because Chibi Robo released about a month ago at all retail stores, walmart, best buy, target, ect. You can buy the game and the amiibo anywhere.
