Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.
That new weapon that fires 3 shots... not sure if I'm a fan of it. The charger has great range though but takes a while to fully charge!
I haven't purchased that one - not sure if I like it - but one thing I noticed during testing is that it's very stingy in its ink usage. Don't have to worry much about running out of ink during close encounters.
I just had an unbelievable game in Ranked Battles. Our team took control of both zones in Port Mackerel with about 1 second left to win it with a score of 1 to 0.
Ouch! Ranked battles can be intense. A hopeless scenario can turn into a triumphant victory and a strong start can bottom out in a flash. Turf wars are like that too, but the countdown meter adds an extra layer of urgency.
I am LOVING ranked splat zones. This is like hardcore mode, matches get so intense. I've gotten better with guns thanks to it. Rocking the. 96 gallon currently. Man, the multiplayer is so good I gotta pull myself away to work on the single player. About half way done.
Splatfest tomorrow and a new map tonight. Exciting! As for the Splatfest, the rules aren't very clear but do any matches count towards the points for our team? Also do we have to be wearing the shirt for them to count or does just joining the team makes all points count regardless of the shirt?
@VofEscaflowne I think (but am not 100% sure) that you'll choose sides at the beginning of the Fest, and after that you'll only find yourself on teams with people on the same side, so effectively all matches count. Think I read that you have to wear your team shirt at all times during the event as well, so you'll only be able to switch shoes and headgear.
@VofEscaflowne We talking about the same weapon? I'm talking about the Jet Squelcher and other burst or semi auto weapons. I fail to see what their strengths are. I've tried practicing with all weapons a bunch and when I switch from anything that isn't a high rate of fire I/we get mauled. Then I switch to Aerospray weapons and I top the list easily every time. At this point I feel those other weapons are more for support/fun but you won't be a major help paint wise for your team. I've only seen one super effective sniper this whole time and it was some guy who never missed any shots.
Oh and Kelp Dome is the best map. Love that map to death.
Worst has gotta be Walleye Warehouse. It feels a little too small and I saw a bunch of games where the team was pushed way back right to their spawn. I don't see that nearly as often in the other maps.
@Infinitywave I broke 1600 a couple times with the Inkbrush.
Wow, that seems high. I didn't get on too great with the inkbrush although I see a lot of people ninja'ing around, swinging them like nunchuks. They can be pretty deadly.
