The latest entry in Nintendo's famous adventure series, The Legend of Zelda, is just about upon us! This game takes place in the same "world" as the classic SNES game, A Link To The Past, following a new Link on a new adventure through Hyrule, and an alternate kingdom, Lorule.
Time to grab the Master Sword once again, adventure fans. The world needs a hero, will you answer the call?
@V_s I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of the core gameplay mechanics of Skyward Sword (motion controls, upgrades, stamina bar) all moved over and refined (and added upon) in a new Zelda game. I felt the core mechanics are the most superior of all the 3D Zeldas, just that that everything barring dungeons & puzzles built around it wasn't very good...
Good Iwata Asks. It finally makes it clear that that game never started as a remake after all.
I love how Miyamoto brutally shot down all of their ideas and just basically told them "hey, look... just make a game like LTTP. That is a good Zelda game."
Yeah, that was a good read. I sometimes forget how long it takes to make a game - especially a Zelda game. They had essentially been working on it for like, four years!

I literally read that as if Miyamoto had the voice of Navi. LOL!
Played for 2.5 hours and so far this game is a dream come true. This is how I like my Zelda.
The wall mechanic is very welcome... far from a stupid gimmick. The rental system really does change your approach to exploring. The overworld is different enough and similar enough, if that makes sense. The optional mini-dungeons are awesome. The improved shield mechanics, diagonal shooting, and stamina meter all work very well. The updated music sounds awesome and the new music actually seems to fall in the same range of quality. And, still my favorite feature: there really is no obnoxious hand-holding!
I know there is still some first play hype going on, but I can only see the game getting better the next time I pick it up, which should be when I wake up tomorrow. Yaaaaaawn.
@PogueSquadron When I first started it felt a tiny bit claustrophobic for a few minutes but I've totally gotten used to it. Runs super smooth even with the 3D on! *COUGHGAMEFREAKCOUGH*
Ahh, finally unlocked the shop earlier! Good to know there's still plenty of item spaces free even after you clear it out! You still have to earn tons of items. Love it! I have a wide assortment of tools already and I've only beaten one dungeon! This game seems soooo good so far. Like, I'm already having more fun with it than any Zelda in recent memory. The way you can use the painting power to get around the world in unique ways to find tons of secrets is super fun! And the multiple ways to solve other problems.
For example (super super minor spoiler, for the well in Kakariko Village) Instead of waiting until you can lift the rocks, you can grab the Cuccoo there and just jump from the ledge and steer your way into the well for a super early 1/4 heart piece!
I have downloaded the game, but I haven't fired it up yet. Gonna tend to my New Leaf town real quick, maybe catch some more pocket monsters in Pokemon, then head out to Hyrule. I'm psyched!

I totally did that.
Anyway, I just got done with the tower of hera. It was my second dungeon. I also got an extra heart already too! Here is a bad pic of my 3DS!
