@TriforceBunI adore Windjammers. By "adore," I mean I play it for fifteen minutes twice a year while drinking honey cream ale at an arcade with my college buddies. Mmm, there's that context creeping in again. Never got into the sequel.
Ghosts n' Goblins on NES as well as Resurrections are both too hard. Too long, in the latter's case. Give Ghouls n' Ghosts a shot! The arcade version on Capcom Arcade Stadium has the better graphics, but the Genesis one on NSO is a faithful replacement.
Bug Hunter
is great, and decidedly modern; it's based on the work of game design genius Michael Brough and thus can't really compete with its masterful inspiration. Cinco Paus is excellent if you have an iPhone, and he's bringing 868-BACK to both iOS and Android soon. What I wouldn't give for him to put it on Switch too, but I suppose having a single enjoyable game on my phone keeps me from wasting time on worse things.
I did enjoy what I played of Grimstone, but I think the combat in the similar amount I played of FF1 was more interesting, and it was more clear to me how to make progress. Divers, on the other hand, I found completely impenetrable. Like the depths of the ocean? I think in-universe it's meant to have started as a third game in the Barbuta-Mooncat duology.
