I totally forgot that we are also getting new Switch games! Considering that this is a 2026 game I wonder if it will also get a Switch 2 version by the time it releases.

@Zero
A Switch 2 version with twice the fps and twice the bpm.

As much as I loved the DS and Wii games, I didn't much care for Rhythm Heaven Megamix. Some of that was Megamix being kinda bloated, but also I think the novelty of these games doesn't strike me like it used to. I'm sure this new one will be pretty, catchy, surprisingly sweaty fun like the others, but I'm not sure I'll bother picking it up.

Coincidentally, I sold all my old games last week, and Rhythm Heaven and RH Fever fetched a pretty penny, well more than I paid for either of them when they were new. Fever was the most valuable game I sold, by quite a margin, which was not at all what I'd expected.

Also coincidentally, I played through Rift of the Necrodancer last week, and it has a handful of minigames that are, uh, heavily inspired by Rhythm Heaven. They're delightful as a side dish to the more traditional Guitar Hero-like experience of the main game.

@nate38 I've been selling games and pricing them first and yeah, was a bit surprised at Rhythm Heaven Fever. But it did come out near the very end so maybe they didn't produce many copies.

Agreed on Megamix feeling bloated, but Fever is still one of my all-time favorite games ever. I went back and re-rated a bunch of games in the database a few weeks ago, and it's one of the only non-Mario/Zelda/Metroid games I gave a 9.5.

If they go a little harder on the remixes and presentation value, I'll adore this one too. I hope we get the original on GBA Nintendo Classics soon.

This was a pretty exciting announcement. Ouendan Switch next?

Seriously, though, where's Culdcept? I can only conclude that they've moved it to Switch 2 for Gameshare.

@Secret_Tunnel
Yeah, the original would be a great addition to NSO. So would the Bit Generations games!

@Anand

I went to a local arcade a couple years ago and was shocked to find one of these, which I had no idea existed:

Oh, yeah! I totally forgot about that. Must've been some crazy arcade!

I still need to try Luigi's Mansion Arcade.

@Anand It's really bizarre, lol. I had mixed thoughts on it when I played it. It was novel and everything but at some point I found myself kind of just wanting to go do something else.

@PogueSquadron
Sounds like my experience with the whip-based Castlevania arcade game!
