To break things up we have another Music Quiz, dedicated to music from the Mario Kart franchise! Unfortunately, there is a Lightning Cloud looming overhead as the team encounters a technical difficulty and loses the last 40% of the event! It must have been Wario and Waluigi, those knuckleheads. Still, later Stephen plugs in the gap and the show does go on!
In the final segment, everyone is excited for E3 2014! Surely Grant is too but by this point in the show he had to run off to another castle. Joe, with the help of Stephen, describes a special E3 game Joe devised up and we're all excited to see how that pans out for them. Then the remaining gang discusses some things they'd like to see at E3 and some concerns they have for the event. They also discuss how Hyrule Warriors can ensure it's a distinguished game in the Zelda world and what Nintendo could really do to make this year's E3 a great show.
The break music is from Mario Kart 8 and it's utterly amazing. There are also sound-effects from Mario Kart 64 and Zero's theme music completes the show.
Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! You can also reach us through Facebook or Twitter. We would really appreciate the feedback. It's the best way for us to know what makes our listeners happy and we'd love to respond to some things on the next episode.
Indeed, been trying to get these out there close to recording. I was sick of life causing delays of a week or more. Now edit a little differently now, just a little, and it was very important for me to get this particular episode out there close to the release of Mario Kart 8. While episode 065 is going to have a delay in recording in general (as we'd like to record right after E3 next week) it still should be close to the 2-week avg and I'll be sure to edit it quickly too.
Enjoy everyone! Good discussions to be had and the music quiz, while we lost some, is still here in a 'complete' fashion. So listen to how Grant, Dave, and Joe did but also TEST YOURSELF!!!
Let us know what you think, and how well you do with the Mario Kart quiz. Again, with the screw up the last five songs are revealed pretty quickly but you can always pause if you need more time to think.
Most excellent podcast! I was at work while listening and while I didn't actually keep score, I was doing better overall at guessing the courses and which game they were featured. As far as which cup, that one was probably my weakest area, like the Choco Mt one, I knew immediately the course's name and that it appeared on the N64 version of MK, but I couldn't remember if it was the Flower Cup Cup or Star Cup. I'm assuming all the cup's names are the same for each version of MK, as far as new courses are concerned, Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special.
There was a few I didn't know, like I believe you had one for Super Circuit on GBA, never played that one at all. I also missed the one for MK8, which was in the first cup. Sure, I've played that track several times, but not enough to have the tune sketched into my memory belonging to that track. Overall, MArio Kart quiz was a really neat idea.
