We’re well on our way through the first round of voting. Things will certainly heat up as this time we’re in the Volcano Bracket, named for the Volcano Badge received from Cinnabar Island in the Kanto Region. This set of Pokemon includes some more unique Pokemon in my opinion. A lot of fan-favorites which got mentioned in the initial seed thread are in this bracket. In my copy of Pokemon Yellow, I just chose to glitch a Mew and use him to replace the very Abra I needed for the event. Will Mew eclipse Alakazam in the coming bracket? We shall see… (Be sure to tell us why in the comments along with your votes!)

NOW WE'RE TALKING. I like Scizor a lot, bug/steel is a fun combo, but Slowbro is a creature with an obvious touch of the divine.

Never liked the legendary doggies. Ditto has a few things going for it, like its goofy face and the fun theory that it's a failed Mew clone.

Steelix vs. Krookodile
Dunno much about Krook but it looks neat. Steelix never really popped my peepers.

Charmander vs. Mew
Oh man, this surprises me. I used to love Mew. And as a Squirtle booster I love tearing down the Charmander family. But let's face it, other than its rarity and story significance, Mew is pretty blah. Yet another psychic-type, and a fairly weak one at that.

Psyduck is one of my favorite Pokemon. He's always got headaches and is adorable. I don't understand Samurott's appeal.

Torterra vs. Poliwhirl

Poliwhirl is my favorite in the Poli-line. I definitely prefer him over Torterra. Plus the black swirl mimics an actual phenomenon where real poliwogs intestines are coiled in the same way and you can see them through their bodies. Look it up.

Slowbro vs. Scizor

Slowbro having a Cloyster on his tail is pretty unique.

Ditto vs. Suicune

Funky and unique Pokemon. Great for breeding. I don't know how to pronounce Suicune and I don't like trying lol.

Steelix vs. Krookodile

Looks like a bastard. For some reason it's a cool look.

Charmander vs. Mew

I had every intention of going Mew here but I think I want to give Charmander the vote. He's adorable and has a flame tail. I remember him from the Anime and it's a touching tale.

Galvantula vs. Fletchling - Not a huge fan of the electric spider, but I like the idea of the starting bird being part fire.
Slowking vs. Alakazam - Not sure why I prefer Alakazam.
Samurott vs. Psyduck - Not a big fan of either, but my preference is for the starter.
Torterra vs. Poliwhirl - See Samurott reasoning, though I do kind of like Torterra.

Slowbro vs. Scizor - See Alakazam reasoning.
Ditto vs. Suicune - I would normally defer to the legendary, but I've never been a big Suicune fan, and I do like Ditto.
Steelix vs. Krookodile - I've just never been a fan of Krookodile. Maybe it's because I skipped Gen 5.
Charmander vs. Mew - The first big "secret" I probably ever encountered in gaming (Mario 3 whistles notwithstanding), so I have to give it to Mew.
