Top Non-Battle Pokemon Themes [top ten]

So I've been playing a lot of Pokemon lately, not only White but also SoulSilver, and I decided to do this. Since people always boast about the battle themes I will not include them to make things more interesting. There are some Black and White songs here, but all spoilers are warned. And the names of the songs are not spoilerific.

(also sorry it's mostly HG/SS and B/W, it's just that they have the best music by far IMO)

Diamond/Pearl - Canalave City

What a great song. Easily the best town theme in D/P

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Violet/Olivine City

This one's full of energy. It's very fitting for the first town with a Gym in it.

Black/White - Shopping Mall (Poke Mart) (Spoilers!)

I never really cared about this song before, but there's something about this rendition that just clicks. Good stuff.

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Indigo Plateau

You know shit's about to get real when you hear this song. Again, perfectly fitting for the few moments before battling the Elite Four.

Black/White - Adeku's Theme (Spoilers!)

Great song, and a great pick for this character.

Warning: If you want to listen to this, listen to the embeded version here. The related videos on Youtube might spoil some things. And pause the video before it finishes so you don't see them here

Ruby/Sapphire - Victory Road

Brawl players should recognize this one. Easily the best Victory Road theme in the series IMO.

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Bell Tower

With the sound of the Rainbow Wing, the Rainbow Pokemon Ho-Oh descends at the top of the Bell Tower...

Pokemon Black/White - Sekka City (spoilers)

Don't ask me why, but this sounds like it belongs in Zelda.

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Bycicle

These top two are undoubtedly my personal favorites and I'm pretty sure they'll always be. Don't ask me why. The originals hold nostalgia, but the version in the remake are better.

HeartGold/SoulSilver - Route 30

I'll never forget you, Route 30. lol. For my favorite non-battle track in the series, you get 15 minute goodness!

Hope you enjoyed!

I keep trying to think of other great tracks, but they're all battles. Nice list!

You know what this thread has done to me? It made me NEED to buy Pokemon White. I think I may pick up Black for the fiancee too.
Dang.

Some good music choices there.

I've always really liked Verdanturf's theme. Nice piano "solo" in the beginning, and the rest of the song is so smooth and calming.

Lovely!

Sounds even cooler on an actual piano.

To be honest, I completely forgot about that one. It's a good one. I don't know if it'd make the list, though.

I'm glad you did this, GE, but for now I'm avoiding too much exposure to the Pokémon games I plan to buy later this year (Black/ White and Heart Gold/ Soul Silver), including music.

I'm that kind of gamer.

But #10 and #5 are definitely great.

Pokémon music is always a delight.

Dude, buy HG/SS. Best game in the series IMO

Good stuff man. #s 10, 9, and 5 would have to be my favorites there. I skipped the Black and White tunes for the same reason as roykoopa.

Grant's choice is well....choice too! Ruby and Sapphire have many of my favorite melodies in the series, so I'd like to share the following:

Yeah, definitely my favorite Pokemon soundtrack!

Really? I thought it was the worst. Well, it's close with D/P. I don't particularly love the tracks you posted, they're not bad, but... yeah. Route 119 is pretty damn good though, i admit

@GelatinousEncore

It could be the nostalgia talking. Ruby was the first Pokemon game I REALLY got into, having skipped the Johto generation and only being permitted to play Pokemon Red from time to time on my bro's Game Boy. I watched the first season of the anime almost religiously though.....

Ahem, anyways, I just love the sound the Game Boy Advance produced for that soundtrack. Drill Dozer also comes to mind, sharing a similar sound style that I absolutely can't get enough of. Without a doubt, every generation of Pokemon has great music to offer.

Really looking forward to seeing what Black and White have in store. I've only heard one song so far (Tower of Heaven?) and I thought it was awesome.

The # 1 pick in the OP reminded me of when I played Gold version on my GBA. I may have to buy Heart Gold afterall...
