What do you think will be the Club Nintendo Platinum Prize for 2012? [roundtable]

I'm assuming it may be a Mario Pillow like Japan has. I actually wouldn't mind it. Looks cool and cute.

But I'm really hoping for a Zelda figure like the Mario one we received in 2010.

What do you guys think and what do you really hope for?

I think it'll be whatever Japan got last year.

Non Specific Action Figure.

My dream has always been an N64 controller than can be used as a classic controller. I would immediately go on Ebay and buy some extras.

That said, I think it will be something boring.

@Jargon
I think there WAS an SNES classic controller as a prize in Japan. Or maybe it was for the Gamecube...

Anyway, I want, as always, a bound set of Iwata Asks or TINGLE'S BALLOON FIGHT.

@Anand

Yea, there was SNES in Japan. But that's pretty much the same as the real classic controller so I didn't bother importing. But for N64, which is a legit difference, I would have paid a high price.

@Jargon
Yeah, I guess SNES is pretty much like the classic. But the Gamecube pad makes for a decent N64 controller.

I just added 3 codes in the last 10 minutes of the day. I went from about 110 to 360 points. It's funny because once I hit 300, the site told me I had just made Gold status, even though I had made Platinum long ago for 2012, and didn't add enough points to make Gold in 2013. Heh.

It's 1:15PM in Tokyo. Shouldn't they already know what THEIR reward is? I've look online but I've found nothing.

I never have enough points because I always blow them on the free game of the month, haha.

That Mario pillow really is killer though, man.

@sirmastersephiroth

They've never revealed the rewards right at midnight. Or even right on July 1st. Hell, even right in July. It usually takes months before we find out.

@Guillaume

Not true, in America at least. Proof in this Joystiq article from exactly a year ago today, explaining last year's Platinum. They should announce ours today sometime I'd expect.

At least in the states, we usually find out during on the first of July. Here are the articles from joystiq: 2010 and 2011. Here's Kotaku's: 2010 and 2011.

Edit:

What the... I could have sworn...

My memory isn't what it used to be.

At least my reflexes are still good: I've tweeted about the podcast and the game club before either of you two!

Thanks for reminding everyone of it's lateness....

But hell, life is what it is. We have other priorities to tackle as well and plus I have a new host and new editors. It's a learning process.

@DrFinkelstein

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I haven't listened to it yet so I said whatever I could think of. You yourself remind people of its lateness in the post, and then the first reply, so please don't be too grumpy about this.
