Turns out controversial SEGA mascot Shadow the Hedgehog has a high profile fan – Shigeru Miyamoto expressed excitement to the press, today, that the recent SEGA buyout would let him finally get his hands on the best-left-forgotten character.
“It’s been a dream project of mine for years and I’m intrigued by the possibilities,” said the creator of Donkey Kong, through a frankly bewildered translator. “I ask myself, Shigeru, what are the different things a gamer can do while controlling a hedgehog who shoots guns? And then I never stop coming up with ideas. Because... I mean... He’s a hedgehog. Hedgehogs shouldn’t have guns! Who's idea was that? That guy was a genius, yo. Like, on the same order as the guy who came up with the Doritos taco.”
Asked what the nature of the game would be, he added: “Mostly shooting things.”
Reached for comment, fellow Nintendo designer Takashi Tezuka added, “This is a sad story. It’s well known around the Nintendo offices that Miyamoto-san has been huffing paint, lately. So I’m afraid he’ll say anything, right now. Take it from me, though. That game ain't happening. Shadow still sucks.”
