The month of February wraps up with a good week of downloadables from Nintendo on the February 28, 2013 edition of the North American Nintendo Download! The highly anticipated Runner2 arrived on the Wii U eShop on Tuesday, and a demo will be made available today as well. The 3DS eShop gets a demo for next week's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate as well as two new eShop titles and a DSiWare title, and WiiWare finally receives Retro City Rampage with its exclusive mode: ROM City Rampage. Also be sure to check out Fractured Soul for 3DS while it's on sale. There's plenty to see, so be sure to stop by your favorite digital storefront at noon ET to see all of this week's updates!

    I think the extra ROM is a nice touch.

    I can't watch youtube at work but in this video, the dev talks about what went behind it.

    It reminds me of when we had Julius on the podcast talking about Super Bat Puncher.

    @GelatinousEncore

    My thoughts exactly. I'm wondering if it eventually gets ported to Wii U, but it'll be too late by then...

    Yeah RCR is going to bomb hard. Ug. I might get it just to support the developer, though I don't think that I have time for it right now.

    @Zero

    Pretty much. I heard it did best on Vita, surprisingly. Apparently indie games do rather well on portables, if the success of this game on Vita and Gunman Clive's success on 3DS is any indication. I tell you what, I'd download this on 3DS for sure if it came to that platform.

    I may end up getting it on WiiWare though, just to give the developer some support. Why not, right? Plus, my 32GB SD card is still pretty empty, so I may as well start filling it up. Otherwise...man. What a waste of money that purchase would have been, ha ha.

    Part of me thinks I should get RCR to reward the developer for bringing to the Wii. Part of me thinks I should use that money to buy one of the dozens of better reviewed Wiiware games I haven't bought yet.

    RCR is a pretty fun game. I got it for Vita (and PS3, since it works for both). Pretty crazy it took this long to show up on the Wii. Blargg.

    A PSN game working on two different systems? Impossible!

    What are RCR's biggest flaws? Strengths? I was turned off by reading impressions a while ago, but I'm still curious.

    I'll check out Runner2 at some point. Probably download the demo tonight, but I already know I'll buy it sooner or later.

    I already have RCR on Vita (by way of PlayStation Plus) and nothing else too interesting to me.

    The demo for Castlevania is good but I feel that it lacks punch. A lot of things seem to fall flat or just feel odd. Enemy finishers when you can grab them... they're just bleh. Still, the combat seems interesting and the return to 2D gameplay is fun. It already feels more Castlevania than Lords of Shadow did (though I did love that game). Voice acting, the very little of it, seemed decent though again is just weird. And Trevor's sound effects sound almost muffled. Weird.

    Oh, I'll check out the Castlevania demo too. (And the Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter demos while I'm at it.)

    Runner2 is amazing. If you don't buy it, you don't like fun games.

    @Jargon

    I can guarantee it's not running via PS3 software emulation, which was the main point of all that flap in the other thread.

    Sure, but it's also interesting that the architecture of the Vita isn't so different from the PSP's to prevent porting, and making games for both PS3 and Vita is apparently a cost-effective thing to do (otherwise, why so many "cross-play" games?), and that the Vita not having a cell processor doesn't seem to hurt it that way.

    Now, asking for a PS4 port of every single PSN PS3 is unreasonable, but I have a tough time imagining it's harder to port a PS3 title to PS4 than it is to Vita.
