Big News For Fire Emblem and 3DS Fans in North America!

The previously Japan and Europe-only Fire Emblem: Awakening Limited Edition 3DS bundle will be hitting North America later this year. This is big news for Fire Emblem and 3DS fans alike!

This was already mentioned in the Official Fire Emblem: Awakening Thread, but news this big I thought deserved it's own thread.

Yup! They just confirmed this in the latest Game Informer magazine. I'm not sure which retailers are doing this (I'm guessing GameStop at least?) but yes! DO WANT! I'll be getting this DAY ONE! NO QUESTION!

I mean, the 3DS itself is awesome-looking, but even the box itself looks badass. The whole package is just freakin' EPIC.

I was really impressed with this 3DS design when it was announced in Japan. But I have no interest in the game, and I already own the Zelda 3DS, which I don't play anymore since I have a 3DS XL, so I'm gonna pass on this. Glad it's coming stateside though!

That is very nice indeed, but I'm with rebonack. My house has the Zelda 3DS and a 3DS XL. I don't see myself buying a limited edition version of the smaller hardware, cool though it may be. Now when will we be seeing some awesome XL bundles? That's what I want.

Pet peeve: headlines (thread titles) that don't actually say what the article (thread) is about. "Fire Emblem 3DS Bundle Coming to God's Favorite Country" would have been way more informative!

But yes that thing is gorgeous. If only I didn't already have a 3DS and plenty of games and save data stuck on it.

Awesome! I won't buy it myself, but man, that thing looks hot.

This is the blue that the 3DS should have launched with instead of that ugly Aqua.

So I'm the only one getting this "version" of the 3DS?

Your loss, guys!

Too small after using the 3DS XL. Looks sweet however.

Like I said in the game's thread, I'm a bit torn. The system looks fantastic, but I really don't need a new 3DS. A XL would've made the decision much easier. I think I'll still get it. Despite being a hardcore Nintendo fan for years, I've never purchased a limited edition system before. And I love the FE series.

Does save data not transfer over? I know when I did my DSi to 3DS my DSiWare game save data didn't transfer. The only game I'm really in the middle of playing is Mole Mania. But I have some high scores that would be nice to keep in some other games.

What about time played and all that? I love looking at that for some reason.

@gojira I have performed a system transfer and absolutely everything was transferred over as far as I can figure. Downloaded games, save data, friend code and friend roster, Activity Log data, StreetPasses, SwapNotes, DS game Wi-Fi ID, etc. I haven't seen anything that was left behind.

@Mop it up Thanks, good to know.

I'm sad. I was really looking forward to it being an XL. I passed on the $160 deal on the XL Mario Kart deal at Best Buy hoping for it. Oh well. I'll just wait for a color I really like.

I do love the look of this though.

It would be cool if I wasn't loving my XL so much. Next hardware purchase for me is going to be that XL Frankenstick monstrosity.

If this comes to Australia, I would definately get it. Been meaning to get a new 3DS and was going to pick this game up too so this bundle would be fantastic.

You guys are too hung up on the XL. That thing is a monstrosity. Get the sleek and slim OG version with the Fire Emblem artwork on it. It's much better.

With the OG version, you'll at least be able to experience the autostereoscopic 3D effect! Can't really do that very well with the XL version, since the screen is too big (and blurry) for its own good. (at least, in my experience)

@GameDadGrant
I really want an XL because the 3DS hurts my hands after holding the Wii U controller. I don't want it because I like my 3DS to fit in my pocket and the XL isn't the most comfortable console in the world.

@Pokefreak911

I'm so confused.

@GameDadGrant
Confused because of typos, or because of something else?

@GameDadGrant It's much more comfortable to hold, the d-pad and start/select/home buttons don't blow, and the bigger screens are awesome. The 3D is fine on the XL, too. Maybe slightly inferior, but it still works, and that's a price worth paying for those gorgeous bigger screens. The 3DS XL (and the DSi XL for that matter) are my favorite iterations of their respective hardware lines (so far anyway, who knows what new 3DS could come down the line?).

If this Fire Emblem 3DS was an XL I would be way more interested.

But shouldn't you be happy that the XL has more people interested in the 3DS? Better they're playing 3DS games on the XL than playing those dreaded console games.

I would buy that in a heartbeat if it was black, so sick of blue Nintendo handhelds... I have 2 already!
