Nintendo Presents: Nintendo Show 3D (eShop)

As an unexpected update to Nintendo's eShop service for the Nintendo 3DS, the video gaming titan has just launched a new promotional video series, complete with stunning 3D. The name of the show is titled Nintendo Show 3D, not to be confused with Nintendo Week; another promotional video series available exclusively on the Nintendo Wii.

For the first episode of the new video series, we are greeted with a new host by the name of Jessie Camtrall (we're not 100% sure on the spelling just yet, as the source was verbal, so please bear with our make-shift transcription) who is informative enough as she guides us through the latest news and current events. As one of the highlights of this episode, we are treated to an exclusive look into the introduction of Star Fox 64 3D, and are provided with supplemental details and info regarding the Virtual Console, 3D Classics, and even a snippet about the Ambassador Program offered to the early adopters of the Nintendo 3DS. The show seems to be presented a bit more professionally when compared to Nintendo Week, and could possibly be geared more towards avid gamers of the platform.

To view the show in 3D, you'll need to have a 3DS on hand and connect to the eShop. It will be prominently displayed on the main menu.

Stay tuned for more coverage on the series as future episodes become available.

I still hold to the fact they need to video her in 3D. She looks like a Viewmaster photo. A cute Viewmaster photo, but still 2D as heck.

The rest of the 3D looks great, and Starfox is lookin' sweet.

@ploot

She really does look out of place, and I know that we can't be the only two people to notice it. The producers at Nintendo must have been smokin' something good to think that we wouldn't be able to tell that she wasn't filmed in 3D.

EDIT:

Upon closer inspection, it looks like she WAS filmed in 3D. You can see the depth in the distance between her hair and face, and also in the distance between her arms and torso. Her boobs were noticeably in 3D too, lol. The depth is most noticeable when she shifts arms, or when she occasionally points towards the camera.

The problem is that she does not physically exist in the environment to capture the depth accurately and the 3D for the environment is rendered to have MUCH more depth than the level of parallax she was recorded at. Since her level of depth is relatively shallow when compared to the environment, it makes her look flat. It's sort of like when directors takes shots of actors in front of a fake backdrop; it makes them look like cardboard cut-outs.

@Cube191

I can't find it either, I assume we won't get it much like the show on the Wii.

That was a good episode, more informative and to-the-point than Gary and Allison's Nintendo Week (though I still liked it). I wonder if they will cover any Wii stuff (they did mention Skyward Sword) or if it will be just handheld stuff.

I don't like it. I guess I'll keep watching because, hell, where else am I going to see footage of 3SD games in 3D? But the show is as bland as "Pulse" on PSN. Even though I haven't watched it in over a month, I vastly prefer Nintendo Week. Yeah, it's silly and everything, but it's got some personality to it.

And roof tents are awesome.

@Guillaume
Nintendo Week always sounded like it was aimed at casual/non-gamers though, right? This feels like it was aimed more at gamers. She even mentioned the hard modes in SML and KDL.

I liked it. Well, I liked watching her. I'll definitely be looking forward to more of these. Lighten up, Guillaume! Its their first episode! She'll probably get a sidekick or something. What was roof tents? I'm completely blanking on that segment.

@Deerock69

Come on! Dark Gary lives on the roof of their building in his tent!

Don't you know your Nintendo Week lore?

Yeah, as a show, I enjoy Nintendo Week more. It's campy, it's informative, and it's entertaining. And Dark Gary is awesome.

But the the Nintendo Show 3D has got some really great 3D and is informative as well, so I'll be sure to watch every episode.

I haven't been keeping up with Nintendo Week lately. "Lately" meaning for the past year or so.

I watched the video last night and I liked it. I wonder if it will be a weekly show?

Looks like it isn't going to be weekly. Maybe it's bi-weekly, or monthly? Or maybe they'll just release the episodes whenever the hell the want?
