Hey, that's kind of a lot better than Japan (which is next week, right?)! It's not just 'launch window'? Pretty sweet. I'll probably get PilotWings and Steel Diver, and possibly grab Ghost Recon, SSFIV, Nintendogs, and Ridge Racer 3D. Bust-a-Move and Monkey Ball are the dark horses. I wonder if anyone will have good deals on launch week?

Yep, it's launch day, as evidenced by the linked article on NOA's official site. For some reason, they say it's 18 titles when it's actually 16, but maybe they were including the built-in stuff as well. EDIT: Oh right, Nintendogs, duh. I was kind of expecting Mercenaries to not be there since Capcom said that'd likely be a Summer release, but of note is the missing Dead or Alive Dimensions. Might be a good idea not to compete with SS43D on day one...or maybe they're just not ready. All in all though, not as bad a lineup as I feared. There're a few games that I've got my eye on, but for pretty much all of them, I'm still waiting for reviews, impressions, and more info. Since my brother is picking up SS4, here are the ones that have me interested: -Pilotwings Resort -Steel Diver -Super Monkey Ball 3D -Rayman 3D -Bust-a-Move Universe The last three are pretty much up in the air, but if they turn out really good then they're maybes too. I like what I've seen of Steel Diver but the fact that the guy says "FIRE" every time you shoot seems extremely grating to me. Repetitive voice samples in games are usually really detrimental to the experience. Pilotwings might be my game of choice when all is said and done, as long as there's enough to do. I'm kind of excited about Rayman 3D, but when was the last time Ubi Soft gave anyone a decent port?

I'm pretty much set for Pilotwings Day 1 with the system itself, but I also want to know more about Rayman 3D because I heard good things about the original and never played it. A decent launch, I suppose. Not great, but not as bad as the original DS one :P

Good to know. I'll be picking up Pilotwings Resort and Super Monkey Ball 3DS. These things all $40 or is that just confirmed to be the new standard. $40 for Bust a Move for example seems ridiculous.

I really hope Monkey Ball is a good 'un because I'm finding myself wanting it.

I am really considering Lego Star Wars 3 here in the UK at launch, apparently its really good. We are not getting steel diver over here at launch.

None of those are must-own games for me. Launch games rarely get me excited. Nintendo is holding back the good stuff to show off at E3.

$40 games will be a $10 reduction in game prices for my main console (the 3DS will be supplanting anything for the forseeable future), so I view this as budget gaming from the get-go. EDIT- Yeah, ummm, did NOT know Rayman 3D was a launch title. Nor did I know Super Monkey Ball was going to make launch. Hmmm. Honestly, I'm going to wait for reviews before biting on an opening title now; I'm really pulling for those two to be great!

At least the PR confirms Mario Kart for 2011. That's my killer app.

I'm definitely getting SSFIV (it's already payed off, along with the system). I might get Pilotwings. I'm still thinking about that one.

I'm definitely getting Pilotwings Resort and Super Street Fighter IV 3D. I may get Bust-a-Move Universe for my wife.

That's an awesome perspective! I came in to complain about $40 games, but you're totally right. The 3DS is my new "main console" for at least a few years, which makes games cheaper from the start. Thanks for that concept!

That's a good release list for Day One. Prices aren't too bad either. I'm most interested in Sims 3 and Ghost Recon.

Not a bad launch lineup at all. Some really good stuff there.

Don't forget guys that Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is a turn-based tactical strategy game! That's easily my most-wanted game out of the launch lineup. Bust-A-Move Universe also sounds cool, and I'd get Rayman 3D if I didn't already own it on N64 and PS2.

I hope this trend does not continue of game prices rising by $10 each gen. It 4 gens I do not want to be paying $80 for a handheld game. The launch window does not really interest me. However, I always wait a year to buy a new console so hopefully by then there will be some great games to play!
