Rondo of Blood is the best, yes. Go with that one, if any.

interesting... Your VC releases are a bit more then in N.A...and your WiiWare releases are way less then what we get... I wonder who is in charge of releasing 'games'.. Japan/Europe/N.A are all different... Why??

I've never been that hot with Castlevania, but I'm tempted with Rondo of Blood. Is it the best in the series?

I would say if you're not super into Castlevania, Super Castlevania IV may be the best place to start. I love Rondo of Blood, but IV probably has the lowest entry barrier and is a fine game to boot.

Rondo is probably the best, traditional (non-Metroidvania) entry in the series.

I think it's not my place to say if Rondo is the best Castlevania, since my experience with the series is very limited. But you know who loved Castlevania since the first game, and could answer your question? Jeremy Parish.

Am I starting to sound like a Parish fanboy yet? Or am I already way past that point?

Rondo of Blood Wii VC

You know...I think I would pick this up..but it's not in english... I mean..I love Muramassa..and I wouldn't mind german/Japanese language being spoken..but the omission (from what I can see) of English sub titles during the cut scenes and other spoken dialogue make this game a no buy... How can I get into a game in which I don't understand?? ... not for 9 bucks.. Sorry

I don't think it's a big deal. Story isn't why I play Castlevania in the first place, but if it's important to you, I'm sure you could find and read translations on the internet.

@Simbabbad

That may be the first time I've ever seen someone bag on the graphics of CV IV!

The pace is definitely quicker in Rondo, though.
