Everyone who said they'd never add a second stick in a 3DS redesign need to come in here and eat some crow!

@Jargon

I'm happy to be wrong! It would really come in handy now since I'm playing through RE: Revelations with clunky controls.

@Jargon

Does that thing really count as a stick?

But damn, hell yes! Just wish that blue colour was available for the smaller model. I dunno. Maybe I will get the new XL.we'll see what the price is like.

I expect it to come in at $200-250 here. Not bad.

As I said in the other thread, my resisting temptation to get a 3DS XL has really paid off! Assuming this comes out in NA for the holidays, it's going to be great getting this and Smash Bros. for my birthday/Xmas. I'll be able to play games that use X again!

Just got the XL last fall, so still too early for me to pick up a new model.

Xenoblade is interesting. I haven't played it yet, but now at least I have a choice when the time comes.

Unfortunately the Xenoblade port is only playable on the New 3DS.

Whoa.
I'm interested to see how much better the 3D spot is.

I'm a TOTAL sucker for Nintendo's handheld redesigns, and this looks great.

Also, Xenoblade? Wow! I wonder how well it translates to the different hardware.

Unrelated to the new 3DS, but still very cool...

3DS themes will soon be a thing for our menus!

I'm kinda torn on which version to get. On one hand I love the screen size of the XL. On the other hand I love the colorization of the regular one. I'll probably get the XL one....... Hopefully Nintendo will come out with better colors for the NA launch.

Holy carp! I have a regular launch 3DS. This is a pretty significant upgrade.

I hope it comes out in time for the inevitable(?) Majora's Mask remake. Much as I loved OoT 3D, a better viewing angle and higher quality, bigger screen would be really welcome.

Whelp. So long, Vita.

Not that you were much competition anyway, but this is the final nail in the coffin. Or rather, the cinder block tied to the cement coffin that has been sealed since last year and is now sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Ok, more Xenoblade is always great and everything, but I'm not liking this whole only-playable-on-new-hardware-iteration stuff. That better not become a thing already.

EDIT: Ok, guess I missed that part of the OP. Well, fuck this shit then. Don't like being forced into buying new hardware mid-gen.

I don't see a cartridge slot on this thing. Is it digital only?

Hahaha. I'm the exact opposite .I'd prefer the blue colouration on the smaller model.

@Hero_Of_Hyrule

The slot is on the front left.

Throw in a Majora's Mask themed one and you've got me, Nintendo.

Haha, can you guys imagine if Smash 3DS was only possible on this system? That'd be such a stinker move to pull.

Granted, I'm not as upset about Xenoblade's exclusivity since it's a port, but future original "big" games only being possible on New 3DS would be a bad move.
