June 11, 2014 In celebration of Pac-Man being the latest addition to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U, Namco Bandai has released two Pac-Man games for the Wii U Virtual Console! Pac-Land for Famicom ($3.49) and Pac-Man Collection for the Game Boy Advance ($4.89) are both now available on the Wii U eShop. This marks the second Famicom offering on the Wii U Virtual Console, the first being Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. These are both discounted for a limited time.

@Jargon

I can vouch for the Pac-Man Collection - good stuff in there. Worth the asking price IMO.

Assuming you're into Pac-Man and his games, of course.

@Jargon

Pac-Land is a fun side-scroller. Worth the asking price IMO.

I might have to get Pac-Man Collection. I've been meaning to put some time into the original game. Train up to be a mini-Billy Mitchell.

Does anyone know if the Pac-Man port in Pac-Man Collection is identical to the arcade version?

Depends. Which arcade version are you referring to? The original? Or one of the later builds from the mid-to-late '80s?

@GameDadGrant

The original! I think.

The port plays well, but it either has to scroll, or look super tiny, because of the size of the GBA screen.
I have the cart, and it's not bad but if you want the original Pac Man you're better off with another version.

Stand-up cabinet version or table-top version? Each had slightly different programming, because Namco be crazy.

Pac-Man Collection is really good. I'll buy that one.

All I want is Pac-Man Battle Royal. 4 player simultaneous, 1 screen, it's a blast! Wish they'd release that.

Yeah, so do I. I think it's coming to everything BUT Wii U. Which is stupid. Total audience overlap.

Anyway, I loved the arcade version of Pac-Land, back in the day. But I watched a video of the NES version, and it looks kind of crappy.
