Conker lead Chris Seavor's The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup coming to Wii U, 3DS

In case you were unaware, Chris Seavor was the project leader and game designer on Conker's Bad Fur Day, and he recently started his own independent development company called Gory Detail. Gory Detail's first game was an iOS game called Parashoot Stan, and we now know the platforms for his second game: the Wii U and 3DS eShops.

Nintendo Life got the chance to speak with Chris and and another ex-Rare developer Shawn Pile about the upcoming game.

Some information:

+ main character is a wind-up dog head on a wheel, Rusty Pup
+ loosely described as a 2D platformer with dark elements
+ physically move in and out of the screen
+ hints of Lemmings (I'm sold!)
+ elements which make it like a virtual pet game
+ don't control character, control everything else to keep him alive
+ core gameplay mechanic that they don't want to talk about yet, might change
+ quite a serious and adult story
+ moments of dark humour, but nothing gory
+ shooting for a late 2014 release

Sounds like they are still working out various elements and the game might evolve a lot before release.

What do you think, Conker fans? Excited?

Liking the art style in that pic, liked Conker's Bad Fur day on the N64, so I'll support this on one platform or the other.
