Conspiracy Entertainment and Compile Heart have teamed up to bring Wii gamers a wonderful puzzle game.
Octomania takes place in the town Lonronpia, inhabited by a colorful cast of characters. A young apprentice magician decided one day to summon up her favorite Japanese treat,
takoyaki, or fried octopi for those not in the know. They rained from the sky with great regularity, and thus, the plot is laid.
The gameplay is simple, and potentially quite addictive. The goal is to fill your opponents area with enough madness that they are overwhelmed and can no longer continue, often plagued by Sea Urchins. To clear your side and fill up their side, you must get like-colored octopi onto the same randomly placed grill, or 3x3 grid. In order to move octopi that have landed on the playing surface, you move your own 2x2 grid to rotate the group. Once on the grill, they change to steam, and any like-colored octopi can then be connected to them to form a chain. Sea Urchins can only be eliminated via this manner as well, though they do not count towards the length of your chain (though they physically keep the steam going). Each character in the game (ranging from a grizzled Samurai-Crab to a lazy angel and many in between) has their own special "Diamond Effect" as well.
Supports all kinds of play; single-player story modes, offline co-op and competitive modes with up to four players, and even online play!
