Alrighty everyone, the game is finally out in all primary regions.... IDreamofHime was the first to receive their copy here on the boards. This is the place to discuss it!!!

Welcome to the thread on Negative World where all wondrous Zelda talk can occur. I would recommend that if you wanna talk about deeper-game stuff as we get going, perhaps spoiler-tag it and then describe outside of spoilers where in the game it is. The recent Super Mario 3D Land Discussion Thread is a good example. That'll allow people who aren't too far to read the thread without actually spoiling stuff for them. Just try to be courteous but definitely have fun with the game and discussions!!

Have ye what it takes?

Be sure to hit up the Skyward Sword Game Page and add the game to your collection once you've received yours. Be sure to mark it as "Playing" while you work on it and after you're played it sufficiently, give it a score you deem fitting!

If you've beaten the game, click on over to roykoopa64's Skyward Sword story/ ending discussion (SPOILERS), and general thoughts thread! It's like this thread part deux!!

I'm likely going to have to play this with my kids around, so can someone please PM me if there is anything in the game a 7 year old and a 4 year old might find frightening? I'm going to be avoiding this thread until I'm finished with the game.

Thanks

Oh my gosh, it begins!

Played it at E3 and liked it quite a bit. Slower, more deliberate directions for slashing seem to be the way to go.

@TriforceBun

I think that's how I'd naturally fight. I wouldn't waggle in the real world, and I wont be here.

Also, I made a front-image for the thread. God I love Zelda fonts.

@DrFinkelstein The banner looks great!

Super excited to get my hands on the game.

Dr. Fink, want to add a link to the Skyward Sword entry in the OP? Let's encourage users to add the game to their collection once they get their copy and click "Now Playing." I love the game database and hopefully more people start to use it.

@roykoopa64

Brilliant idea sir! Added!

Maybe these threads should be public...

@Guillaume

I questioned that when I made this but then I figured Zero would prefer they aren't. Otherwise, what's the purpose of having an account here (besides also contributing). But since we have a lot of lurkers anyway, do we want to make it public so everyone can lurk it? What do you and Zero think?

It's coming... oh GOD, it's coming!

@GelatinousEncore

You've posted this elsewhere and I'm forcing myself to wait.... I want the cherry to pop all at once in an orgy of Zelda goodness sunday.
Posted: 11/17/11, 21:32:42
Yeah sorry, I just love it too much! And I don't think it's much of a spoiler, but oh well.
Posted: 11/17/11, 21:35:18
Nice banner! I will be all up in here on Sunday, between lengthy game sessions when I stop to eat or go to the bathroom.

@GelatinousEncore

It probably isn't, but I keep remembering how amazing I felt getting on Wind Waker's Ocean for the first time. It felt epic and if anyone has listened to Negative World Podcast Episode 20, then they know how much I love the epic-ness of Zelda. I wanna experience the song when I first reach the sky myself.
Posted: 11/17/11, 21:39:31
Of course, that's completely fair, I was just explaining why I don't hesitate to post the song in this thread for people interested.

I got my copy today.

Very impressed so far, the controls work well and I kind of dont want to play another Zelda without them. The characters and game world are full of charm. Nintendo has done a bang up job with the story and cutscenes so far, everytime Zelda and Link share a scene its just really well done.

I kind of wish they didnt use motion control for the flight controls and that blurring technique they have used does work inside buildings as it does outside them.

Groose for the win.

@DrFinkelstein

What I think? Give'm a taste and they'll come back for more! lol.
Posted: 11/17/11, 22:35:19
Fair enough. I'll change it then.
Posted: 11/17/11, 22:41:18
I'm been dodging that sky song too. =U
Posted: 11/17/11, 22:49:39
How did some of you get the game already?
Posted: 11/17/11, 22:59:44
@TriforceBun

It's out now in some parts of Europe. Should be released everywhere over there within a few hours.
