Huh, strange to think there wasn't already a thread for this game before just recently. But yeah, game looks pretty awesome. I've got the Special Edition version pre-ordered because....well, a fool and his money are soon parted. Such is the way of the world.
But whatever, that diorama box is too awesome-looking to pass up.
Strong demo. I hope the final game delivers in terms of story and character; I felt Olberic's chapter was a bit dull, but Primrose's story was very compelling.
Everything else, particularly the visuals, battle system and sound, were rock solid.
I'm still a bit worried about how this game fits together with the selectable characters and their narratives. I haven't been able to get through a JRPG in many years despite really loving the genre in the 90's, so I hope it's different with this one. It does seem like an ideal bed game to play for awhile before sleeping.
Somebody on Reddit pointed out that it might be cool to play an RPG that is a collection of short stories... and I'm already pretty sold on the combat, so yeah. I'm definitely going to give it a try.
@Hinph Square did that back in the 90's with Live a Live, but those short stories weren't linked to each other, I don't think. Seemed like a cool game though, with some wild west scenario, a samurai story and what not.
Seiken Densetsu 3 does this a bit. You can pick 3 of 6 different characters, so the game will start differently, but I think eventually converge into the same path.
I've been champing at the bit for this game lately...very excited! I've already hit the 3 hour mark with my demo, starting with Ophilia and progressing clockwise towards Cyrus and Tressa.
In fact, I'm so certain that I'll enjoy one aspect of this game in particular--the soundtrack--that I've already imported the full CD set alongside the game. Mmm~
