THE LATEST LAYTON GAME IS HERE!

Join Katrielle Layton, our new hero, as she becomes embroiled in a casual, quizzical quest, which has its roots in our hero’s search for her missing father, Professor Hershel Layton. You'll be whisked around London's famous landmarks, from the Houses of Parliament to Tower Bridge, following Kat, solving case after unlikely case, until she unwittingly uncovers the Millionaires' Conspiracy.

The story begins with Katrielle setting up the Layton Detective Agency, determined to prove her worth and hoping the exposure will uncover clues about the missing professor's whereabouts. Help Kat discover clues, solve mysteries and original puzzles! Fashion-conscious players can also redecorate the agency and dress Katrielle in various outfits to suit the case at hand. With the most puzzles ever included in a Layton game, a colorful new cast, and an intriguing storyline that includes seven millionaires and one whopper of a conspiracy, will she ever be able to find her missing father?

So, this game just hit the 3DS - anyone pick it up? I've never actually played a Layton game before - not even the cross-over with Ace Attorney. This is potentially the first time I'll be diving into this "universe." Hope it's cool.

Anyone else pick this up? Or have played the mobile/smart device version?

Really?! You've never played the series? Weird. You may want to start from the beginning.

I think this is supposed to be the worst one, puzzle-wise. Plus, the story is actually a key component of Layton games.

@Anand

Worst puzzles? I wonder if they kinda "dumbed it down" for the audience that plays on phones? Since those are typically not the kind who have the typical "gamer" mindset. Huh. Hopefully the year of free puzzles via DLC make up for that.

But yeah, never played the series. I own all the original games on the OG DS. Still sitting on a shelf somewhere in my basement. Just...y'know. Never actually fired one up.

....I'm terribly irresponsible with my money.

Join the club! I think that they did dumb it down a bit for the mobile crowd. Plus, Akira Tago, who created the puzzles that the original games were based on, died.

Just play the first game!
