Welcome to the thread! I don't expect this one to be amazingly popular but having downloaded it recently and given it a go because I'm a fan of the game, I wanted to express that it's really good. Lots of levels of difficulty, great graphics, nice music, and several Chess challenges for everyone. It supports local and online multiplayer - although online multiplayer is not 'live'. Please click here for more details on this feature and the game!

Have fun..

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Oddly enough that article made me interested in the iOS version simply for the push notifications.
Plus, I'd still be able to play with 3DS and Wii U peeps. Nice!

Although... I'm not really comfortable with my chess ability. I can play the game, but not very well!

Edit- I tried the iOS version on my iphone and it's nearly unplayable. Sometimes inputs don't register and the board is too small for me to pick the right squares.
Too bad, because the game looks good.

I will likely pick this up for the Wii U at some point, but I'm not quite sure when yet. On one hand it's 60 SEK for what seems to be a very classy and complete chess package, but on the other hand it's also likely 60 SEK for being reminded of just how much I suck at chess these days.

Also, being the superficial moron that I am, I'm a bit miffed that the forest and park themes are paid DLC. They look so much more relaxing and pretty than the rest of the environments and pieces as far as I'm concerned, but paying almost 1/3 of the game's full price extra just so I can pretend to play chess in a forest is a bit steep.

I think an idea for a chess tournament was bandied about here a while back...is the online mode here ideal for such a thing?

Also how much is it?

I'm honestly (pleasantly) surprised this turned out so well. Chess is a game that can be an easy cash-in for a developer, so I'm happy to hear that wasn't the case here.

@Shadowlink

8.99.

It offers a few different variation of pieces but the dlc sets are cool looking. A little pricey $3 each so ill wait till they go on sale

Tournaments are possible but I haven't tried the online yet. Apparently it may work well if nw chat was open as online moves are message based. Not sure of the speed of play though

And the iOS version is free? I'll definitely be getting that then.
