Here we are… the final four. A surprising four perhaps. Are you shocked? Are you not? Vote and let us know below.

Peach ended up coming quite far in this race. She knocked out Dark Pit, Cloud, and even my beloved Pac-Man! However, she was no match for the heroic Link from The Legend of Zelda series. His win was mighty at a voting split of 12/4. No contest.

The other match ups were much closer. All of them were 9/7 splits. A mere two votes different each. Mr. Game & Watch was one of Nintendo's earliest mascots with the Game & Watch series. Perhaps it was for this fact that Donkey Kong was not able to brute-force his way through to the Final Four.

The third match up was a tough one. Pikachu versus Villager. Both were quite beloved throughout the bracket. Pikachu has the fact that it was there from the beginning and is one of the most beloved Pokemon in that series. Villager was a surprise guest who I personally had been waiting many years for. When Villager came on the scene there were plenty of images of him and his axe, a signature move, being sinister and it seems his sinister behavior pushed him into the Final Four. Pikachu went back to it's poke ball.

Finally we had two rather 'robotic' heroes. One tall, one short. Samus Aran versus Mega Man. In terms of their Super Smash Bros. power, Samus is well known for having a great long-game with the power to close the deal when needed. Mega Man is known as a unique character where his forward-smash is a projectile by default. In the end, with so many factors coming into play by these two, Mega Man managed to slide his way to the Final Four and leaving Samus to head back to find 'the baby'.

We now have four left. As I did last time, we will vote on all possible outcomes so that it is a bit harder to immediately discern who is/will win. I will still be following the rules and standards of the bracket format but it's a bit mixed for a bit of fun. There are some bonus votes too. Please vote in all of these if you would. Thank you.

For these four, my voting goes Mega Man > G&W > Villager > Link. I'm wondering if Link got this far for his Smash Bros performance alone, or since he's such an iconic character. He's a solid Smasher at least, with a nice balance of projectiles and close-range attacks, but still my least-favorite of this set of characters. The remaining three all display a lot more creativity with their movesets; compare their A-moves with Link's various non-game-specific sword swipes. I think if Link debuted in Brawl or SSB4, he'd have the Pegasus Boots for his dash attack, the Deku Leaf for his up-aerial, the Hammer for his down-smash, etc. He suffers from SSB64 newcomer syndrome.

Villager and G&W are tight battles and they're both really well-designed characters. I went with G&W over the little guy because of the sheer wild nature of his moveset and visual representation, and for the simple fact that I'm better with him.

At the top of my list is Mega Man, who's the best of all worlds to me. He's a perfectly realized Smash character--fully unique, and with every single move having some sort of basis in his series. Even details like his lack of idle animations (because he's a robot!) and always shooting with his downstage arm (because that's how he does it in the games, with sprite mirroring) really speak to the amount of love and detail put into this character. It helps that he's my co-main. Mega Man for president!

Mega Man is game-faithful, unique, and interesting, even if I'm not great with him...
I don't much care for Villager's style, but he's got some fun silliness with Pocket, the tree, bowling balls, etc.
Link's a little plain compared to the others, but he's easy and fun to play anyway.
G&W's got style, but other than the Judge Hammer he's less unorthodox than he looks.
