This was probably our best start to a bracket ever! 22 people voted and the people have spoken!… but we'll get to that later. Let's jump into the voting for Round 1B, as we'll be running this just as last time which keeps a bit of mystery and surprise throughout the bracket. Next up is the Dragoon Bracket, named for the ridiculous 3-piece weapon which made its Super Smash Bros. debut with Brawl. It took three parts to come together in order to activate it and now it will take eight votes for any of these characters to move forward. Starting us off we have a truly randomized matchup against some Fire Emblem characters and then another with Kirby characters. I have yet to really know what Corrin is all about, but honestly, Ike is one of my all-time favorites. So strong. So cool. So Ike!

Meta Knight vs. King Dedede
King Dedede became more popular to me partially due to HammerLord and partially due to the awesome amiibo they did for it. I enjoy playing as him.

Yoshi vs. Mr. Game & Watch
Yoshi vs. Mr Game & Watch was a little tricky but I enjoy some of the peculiarities of MG&H.

Lucina vs. Sheik
Sheik is really cool but man I enjoy playing as Lucina. She's a quick fav of mine too.

Wolf vs. Sonic
Wolf, to me, is mostly a Fox clone, though one I actually prefer over Fox. Now that moves are customizable in Wii U/3DS, Fox can be a bit more like wolf. So Sonic it is for me. Love his recovery.

Donkey Kong vs. Captain Olimar (Alph)
Donkey Kong is a better player than Olimar I think and Alph as a body double doesn't help Olimar's case. The Capt. is cool but not cool enough.

Bowser Jr. (Koopalings) vs. Ice Climbers
I HATE THE ICE CLIMBERS! So Bowser Jr. it is. The Koopalings are great skins too.

Captain Falcon vs. Mario
Finally, I just have to give it to the main man Mario. I like his moves and I like fighting others as him. Captain Falcon is truly cool but I think I prefer Ganondorf over him. Captain Falcon is fast which is a plus.

Corrin vs. Ike
Ike's my main man, both in Smash and Fire Emblem. Corrin's reveal was a bit of a letdown, but he/she turned out cooler than expected. But...Ike.

Meta Knight vs. King Dedede
Tough call #1! I've never been crazy about either character in Smash, which is a shame because I love the series. But Dedede's big happy face beats out Meta's mask for me.

Yoshi vs. Mr. Game & Watch
Tough call #2! Yoshi's fine with his eggs, but G&W's a bit more fine with his nines.

Lucina vs. Sheik
Tough call #3! I love that Lucina's in the game, because I liked her a lot of FE Awakening. But she's a clone. But she's a clone of a fun character! Sheik has never been my style, but I have to admit she's pretty cool to watch in Smash 4 (after the nerfs, anyway). *flips coin*

Wolf vs. Sonic
Tough call #4! I actually really liked Wolf and hoped he'd come back for Smash 4. And I probably enjoy playing Smash as him more than Sonic. But I can't vote Wolf over Sonic <3

Donkey Kong vs. Captain Olimar (Alph)
Never took much of a liking to Olimar, though I respect his style a lot these days. DK's an icon, and a really fun Smash character.

Bowser Jr. (Koopalings) vs. Ice Climbers
Tough call #5! I really like BowJu in Smash 4, but Ice Climbers are such a cool concept and fun besides. And cute as a pair of buttons.

Captain Falcon vs. Mario
Tough call #6! Two characters who are overly popular online in Smash 4, so they kinda get on my nerves. But that's to be expected: Mario's easy to pick up and extremely effective. Captain Falcon's every move is hype incarnate. I've got to give it to the Captain, because I think he's perhaps the most iconic Smash character. By which I mean, when you say Captain Falcon, most people are going to think "Smash" before they think "F-Zero." And I think that's not so much a dig at F-Zero as it is a feather in the Captain's cap.

I just implemented a feature in my Google Spreadsheet that tracks all the votes which will automatically calculate the percentage of a person's votes which were the majority vote, and thus the character that moved forward. Mop it up and I had some debate about that in the Pokemon bracket so now I can actually do this for all voters and much more easily than last time.

Corrin vs. Ike- Who the hell is Corrin? (Is it Xenoblade?) We like Ike.

Meta Knight vs. King Dedede - He's like a cool Kirby. With a sword. And I hear they had to nerf him because he was too awesome.

Yoshi vs. Mr. Game & Watch- Ehh. They both annoy me. But people using Yoshi to suck him up and then walk off the edge annoys Zero (if I remember correctly.) So... Yoshi?

Lucina vs. Sheik- Haven't used either of them much, but I think I had more fun handling Lucina in that challenge (challenge itself aside) then I ever did with Sheik. I guess that's because She's a Marth clone.

Wolf vs. Sonic- Sonic is such a pain to use IMO.

Donkey Kong vs. Captain Olimar (Alph)- DK. The Pikmin mechanic is too random for my taste.

Bowser Jr. (Koopalings) vs. Ice Climbers- Ice Climbers are just such a unique character.

Captain Falcon vs. Mario- FALCON PUNCH.

I remember the Nintendo Direct that announced Corrin and I remember the absolute disappointment I felt for seeing another FE character. Awful!

Yoshi vs. Mr. Game & Watch
Mr. Game & Watch is one of my all-time favourite Smashers. He is JUST SO FUN to play as. Sure, he's light as heck, but he can also K.O. Mewtwo in a second!
He is awesome, awesome, awesome.

Lucina vs. Sheik
Blahhhhh. I feel that Hyrule Warriors gave Sheik a waaaaaay better moveset, and even incorporated the harp. For some reason, Sheik in Smash just bugs me. Lucina's not much better as the cloniest clone that ever cloned, but I like her in Awakening.

Wolf vs. Sonic
"We're gonna have fun with this thing! AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I miss Wolf so much. He may have looked sort of similar to Fox, but he played quite differently.

This one was a coin toss. Both (err, all three) characters are fun to play as.

-Corrin's inclusion bothers me. Too many FE players and as a penultimate reveal I would've preferred, like, any other series represented except Pokemon.

Meta Knight vs. King Dedede
-Both are fun. I'm horrible with Dedede but I'll give him the nod for a creative moveset that's not just another sword.

Yoshi vs. Mr. Game & Watch
-G&W is one of my absolute favorites, a creative take on a classic piece of Nintendo history.

Lucina vs. Sheik
-Don't love either, honestly, but Sheik has an original moveset at least.


Wolf vs. Sonic
-Sonic's moves are a tad underwhelming but he's still pretty fun.

Donkey Kong vs. Captain Olimar (Alph)
-I like both of these guys, but DK really needs a barrel move, so Olimar gets the vote.

Bowser Jr. (Koopalings) vs. Ice Climbers
-This is tough. Jr/Koopalings are really creative, but I like playing as the Ice Climbers more.

Captain Falcon vs. Mario
-Also tough. Mario's a classic character but his moveset is somewhat dull. Falcon's moves are all made up but he has a lot of personality in Smash. Despite thinking there're too many online, I'll vote for the Cap as a Smash fighter.
