I always use my name... I think I have used the name "Link" once in A link to the Past but all the other play throughs and other Zelda games I played have had my name on the save file. It's me in the green tunic - I'm the hero - *shrugs* I guess it just puts me more in the game. This is an added plus as there is still no voice acting. I think it would be weird for me to be called "Link" from some voice actor.
Same here. I'll often use my real name for the first play through, but this time I decided to stick with Link. It's the default name this time, so maybe that's why.
It'll always be Link to me! Although, my wife usually makes us do "LINK" in all caps as some kind of homage to the days when lowercase wasn't an option =P
I always use Link. Takes me out of the experience if they're calling the Hero of Hyrule: Carlos.
Same (except the Carlos bit ). If I'm ever doing a second playthrough I might use my own name just because I'm not bothering with trying to force the immersion since I already know what's going to happen, but my first playthrough is always Link. At this point in the series it doesn't make sense to me to try to imagine that Link is my personal avatar into the world of Hyrule. Link now has his own personality and characteristics. He makes decisions in cut scenes that I wouldn't always make. He's no more me than Mario, Snake, Batman, etc. are.
