It's neat to see the evolution of the characters, and they have me more interested in the single player campaign now.

Also, I highly doubt that pun at the end was in the interview. Must've been made up by the translator! A replacement joke for a Japanese pun perhaps.

I wonder if they would have ever seriously made the tofu game.

My guess is that the pun in Japanese was them saying 'shikata ga nai', roughly meaning 'it can't be helped', but with the emphasis on the 'ika' part, which means squid. Pretty decent translation if so, I think.
