ROUND TWO: Super Smash Bros. Stages Bracket! (BUMPER BRACKET) Results

Melee is pretty popular you say? All remaining levels in this bracket are from Melee, with only one actually originating from the N64. Perhaps this is a trend we will see continually.

Lives to Smash Another Day
(10) Brinstar (Melee/Brawl)
(11) Corneria (Melee/Brawl)
(33) Kingdom II (Melee)
(5) Yoshi's Island (N64/Melee)

Close Call Award: Yoshi's Island (N64/Melee) made it by a single vote. The rest were a bit more spread out, which disappoints because I feel that Luigi's Mansion deserves better overall in this poll series.

No Hope Award: Summit simply had no hope. The Ice Climbers and their stages never receive as much love as their hardcore fans would like. Summit was doomed to plummet.

Be sure to vote in the currently active bracket poll! One more day left!

Only 1 of the 4 I picked made it through (Metroid.) And it's not my favorite Metroid stage.

My Brinstar and Corneria picks made it. Luigi's Mansion and Shadow Moses were now forgotten.

Wow, everything I voted went through. I guess as things get narrowed down I'm lining up more!

Glad to see Yoshi's Island move on over boring Metal Gear.

I didn't think metal gear was boring, but I will give you that the special event the stage had happened rather infrequently. So, that does put a damper on it.

@DrFinkelstein

My problem is more that it didn't actually affect gameplay (as far as I can tell). Just stays as the same teching overload stage.

It's not my favorite stage, but I like the Metal Gear stage because it feels unique in that you have this space on the bottom that there isn't much of a threat of being knocked off the sides. Kind of like the 'bottle' stage I made in the stage designer. Whereas Yoshi just kind of blurs into Battlefield / Smashville / Fountain of Dreams / etc.

Pretty sure you're correct. I would agree about the flat too. I wonder if MGS fans were disappointed because there's a lot of franchise to pull from there.

What's good about the Yoshi stage is the far off clouds. If you can get people to chase you over there, it can lead to some really exciting battles with people trying to get back to the mainland.

I suppose I forgot the clouds existed. In general though I don't find the Battlefield-like designs very interesting. My favorite stages are um... actually I've been thinking of doing a top 10 Smash Bros. stages list. Would be interesting to me too because I don't necessarily have a mental list in my head like I do for Mario Kart and such.

Off the top of my head I'd say WarioWare, Bridge of whatever it's called, F-Zero, SMW Yoshi's Island, Mario Kart, um... probably some huge ones I'm forgetting.

That Metroid stage where Kraid flips it around is cool. Forget which one that is.

@Zero

I've been pondering a Top 10 Smash list too... maybe I wont do Stages if you plan to. Maybe music tracks...
