When a gigantic explosion is space sends two strange meteors crashing to earth, a desperate call for help goes out. Mega Man speeds to the site and arrives just in time to see his arch-rival, Dr. Wily, fleeing the scene... Now Mega Man must uncover the secret of the mysterious meteors in a race to stay one step ahead of Dr. Wily and his deadly breed of super-powered robots.
The game is the first in the classic series to feature anime-style full-motion videos (FMV) in order to tell the story and is the first and only game in which Mega Man is capable of swimming. The game also marks the tenth anniversary (1987-1997) of the Mega Man franchise.
