Excellent, excellent entry into a tried-and-true series. Though it does retread a lot of DP's ground, it still manages to bring some new elements to the table, and of course further "tweak" the battle system. Although HGSS looks to replace it soon, Platinum is definitely the perfect culmination of everything fans love about the game... and of course, some things fans still would like to change.
