The first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to actually follow the card game's rules. However there is no story mode. All you can do is battle against characters from the manga/anime. When you win you get a booster pack of cards. Through this you can build your deck to defeat more foes.
The game does feature an in game calendar. Each battle uses up a day. And there are days when certain activities happen. You'll get a new booster pack or there may be a tournament.
