I guess we have some fishing and rifle shells for the Joy Con, but we still have no real gimmick JCs? JC!.. (more)

I'd been wanting to make a NW Collection thread for a while. Did you guys know that GameCube used game prices have been shooting up a lot lately? Heck, all Nintendo cartridge-based systems too. It seems like older games are becoming very desirable now to people who grew up with 'em. The GCNGB trolls are eating their words, lemme tell ya!.. (more)

I tried to order a PS5 about a month ago, when Walmart was scheduled to drop some. Just as a sheer exercise to see if I could. I kept taking my eye off of the ball and barely missing the drop every ten minutes. So it became a challenge to overcome. And then, finally... the order actually went through... (more)

So, just to set the stage here, the Switch had 10 of the top 20 selling games in America this past December. Specifically, NINTENDO had 10 of the top 20, as literally all of them were 1st party. It does very well in Europe and Japan as well. It has already outpaced the Xbox One worldwide and is usually topping the charts across the globe... (more)

...and assuming that it has same functionality as the hybrid Switch... what should it be called, in order to appeal, yet not step on the toes of Switch 2?.. (more)

I thought this might be a fun question, because November is usually the time of year that big releases and new platforms come out. Because of this, I often feel "programmed" to want to play some of these games. I'd list some of them, but I don't want to skew the conversation one way or another... (more)

Has it been... uniformly terrible? I always lament the lack of WLAN multiplayer in stuff like the recent DOOM port, but I don't think I've ever had a good experience connecting more than two consoles wirelessly. And usually not even with just two. Smash, Splatoon 2, Pac-Man Vs (a true nightmare to set up)... Even freaking card games in Clubhouse Games! And, judging by videos, Mario Kart Home Circuit also seems to push the Switch's wireless capabilities to the limit (and sometimes beyond)... (more)

Whilst browsing a list of eShop games for under 10 cents apiece the other day, I came to something of a revelation: time is worth more than money when it comes to leisure. It's like with streaming services: in a way, you have THOUSANDS of free movies and TV shows, but who's ever going to watch them all? Why should I buy ten games for a dollar when I'm already sitting on a backlog of titles that still haven't been played...that I know I like...and won't cost me anything extra to play them now!? I love my Switch. It's an amazing system with one of the fullest, finest libraries in Nintendo history, and it's only halfway through its lifecycle so far! I've got an extensive collection of modern AAA titles like Mario Odyssey, high-quality third-party gems like Dragon Quest XI and Octopath Traveler, indie darlings like Cuphead, and legacy compilations like Mega Man Zero and Collection of Mana, ensuring that there'll be hours and hours of gameplay to enjoy for decades to come... Hockey - NHL ' 94 (SNES) of course. I feel like in games before this game (and even many made after it) scoring in hockey games felt semi-arbitrary. Just get close and shoot and hope for the best. But this game made you earn it! One-timers, dekes, wrap-a-rounds, you name it. So much control!.. (more)

I was thinking a bit about how nervous I get when great franchises get handed off to new devs. A lot of times it doesn't seem to end well... (more)
