All Super Mario games are great. This is pretty much a fact. Can we really name a single Super Mario game that was terrible? NO. Because there has never been one... (more)

It is impossible to talk about Wii games on the gaming boards. People just don’t seem to give a shit. Start a thread about the 3 awesome 2D action games released this week on the Wii, and you get a few genuinely interested responses, then people who don’t even own a Wii push their PC or 360 game of the moment, and the thread dies a quick death... I recently had the joy of playing through the classic Super Nintendo RPG Earthbound for the first time ever due to its long overdue re-release on the Wii U Virtual Console this past July. Yes, I am a bad Nintendo fan for having never played it before, and I should be ashamed of myself. However, that mistake has now been rectified, so I can only beg forgiveness and carry on... (more)

So first I was gonna do my personal Top 10 Wii games, but we all know how that would turn out. Metroid Prime Trilogy, Galaxy 1, Galaxy 2 on top. And that's just no fun. And DKCR had to be in there, etc ... so instead I decided to do a third party only list! Hopefully it's more interesting!.. (more)

Kid Icarus was released on July 1987. While it was a success for Nintendo, it was unfortunately timed. Both Kid Icarus (July 1987) and its Gameboy sequel Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (November 1991) were quickly overshadowed by Metroid (August 1987) and Metroid II: The Return of Samus (November 1991) respectively in the North American market. In fact, Of Myths and Monsters wasn’t even released in Japan until this year as a 3DS Virtual Console title. The franchise has lain dormant for over two decades. It wasn’t until Kid Icarus appeared as a playable character in Smash Bros. Brawl that we were given hope of a franchise resurrection. A hope that was proven true shortly after when a secret Nintendo project code-named Project Sora, was revealed to be a new Kid Icarus game for the 3DS named Kid Icarus: Uprising... (more)

Before I can recommend Ivy the Kiwi? Mini, I have to ask one simple question: can you handle a little frustration in your games? If you don’t mind pulling your hair out occasionally because you died for the Nth time on a set of spikes or because you ran out of time just as you were reaching the end of a stage, you will find this game very fun and rewarding. If not, don’t curse my name and say I didn’t warn you... (more)

So, as most of y'all know, the DS is my favorite system. Of all time. This generation was, for me, defined by Nintendo's quirky dual-screen handheld. The wealth of quality software, unique and innovative ideas and (thanks to the DSi) cool accessory features, the DS will remain as my top pick for 'most favorite hardware' for at least the foreseeable future. I love that thing... (more)

As any good Nintendo fan knows, Smash Brothers games are currently in development for both the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS, so now seemed like as good of a time as any to put together a wish list of characters that I would like to see appearing in these games... (more)

In 1993, Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Game Boy, the fourth installment of the Zelda series to huge commercial and critical success. When the Game Boy Color launched in late 1998, Nintendo decided to add a splash of color to Link's portable adventure, as well as a couple of odds and ends. The result: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX... (more)
