So with this game coming out relative soon-ish, I figured we may as well start officially discussing it. And the first thing to discuss is... a local multiplayer mode?! Straight from the official site itself.
With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario's heroic brother—and it's only on Nintendo 3DS.
Do we know anything about this mode?! I kind of think it might be something / exactly like the Nintendo Land Luigi's Mansion multiplayer mode. Hopefully it doesn't require all participants to have a cartridge...
It'll be interesting to see who the second player's character is. It wouldn't be...Mario, would it? Mario as the "2p" in a co-op game? That'd be weird!
Maybe Luigi will team up with E. Gadd or something.
I read that this game has some point and click aspects to it. That and the fact that the mansions are jam packed with different secrets, puzzles, and details, this is starting to excite me.
Someone in the Chicago StreetPass group already has this game, apparently. Got it at some Navy base. Posted all "who else has this game?!" Seemed shocked when I informed them that it wasn't actually officially out yet.
Yes, and I will be on board, even though I'm getting a physical copy for my kids. I want one on tap. Nintendo has found a way to double their profits on me, damn them!
@ploot Disagree with that review, this game is definitely 9+ material IMO, but she is right about the check-point thing, I lost about a half hour of progress because I quit out to the main menu thinking it would have saved my progress, nope. So be careful, don't die and don't shut the game off!
Cleared through 1-4, and I'm enjoying the game even more than expected.
The gyro controls seemed a bit daunting at first, but luckily they aren't needed as much as I thought they would be.
Oh, and I decided to check out the online Scarescrapers, and it was filled with only Japanese rooms, heh. I cleared a Hard mode one with 3 other guys. It's nice that ghosts you catch on that mode get transferred to your vault, as well as coins to put towards your next upgrade.
