Oh snap, really? That's awesome! Maybe I'll cancel my pre-order of the game, then.

I'll ask the guys at my local store for clarification. Just in case, y'know?

That's awesome... man I love that thing, just not loving the blue... still very tempting.

Ah, dude! That blue color is AMAZING. I love it so much.

Oh well. Different stroke and all that.

An actual TV spot for Fire Emblem: Awakening. Crazy. Looks like Nintendo actually wants it to sell.

And apparently pre-orders at Gamestop (US anyway) are closed. Though no idea if this is because of demand... still, quite unexpected either way.

Definitely, it looks great, and I like how you can switch into 1st person during the attack animations, couldn't do that with sprites!

I will definitely be putting many many hours into this game.

I did not even notice that. This is an entertainment packed demo!

After not getting the second DS Fire Emblem game it seemed Nintendo wasn't sure about FE in the West. So it's nice to see them not only release the game but really putting some effort into the release.

Anyone know where this game fits in the series' fictional chronology?

How does one go into first-person view during battles?

Not yet. We know it takes place after Shadow Dragon, since Marth is known as a legendary hero. But details are scarce on how far into the "future" Awakening takes place in.

Yea, that's about as much as I could glean as well. I think I may buy this gaaaaame!! Does anyone know if there are multiple save slots so that I could do one playthrough sans perma-death and then one with should I feel masochistic enough?

Just played through the demo. I will be getting this one!

Hard to believe I've ignored this series before. Say la vee.

I played through the demo and enjoyed it...I'm glad that they didn't just throw you into the fray without much help (Ni no Kuni demo, I'm looking your way). I did it on hard and lost two characters (the archer and the healer) because I was tired and careless.

I'm looking forward to playing the full version in a couple of weeks!

I've gotta get this, it'll be the first FE I buy and I'm excited!

Which place has this cheapest, though? GameStop is lame and stopped taking preorders so the art book's out. Zero, you usually know where to get stuff cheap, so help me out, brother!

I think the game is going to be priced the same across the board during launch, no? Unless you do something crazy and go to Wal*Mart and get it for $39.96 or the like.

If anyone pre-ordered at EB Canada, check your stores. Apparently it's already out there and it's not street dated.

@VofEscaflowne that makes me Jealous. But, I am American and I am buying the digital version, so no early release for me...
Posted: 01/29/13, 18:25:17
I'm hoping they get it today... but I'm sure it would still be a struggle to get retailers who stick by the original release date to just hand it out early. But it clearly says on the website that it's out.

@VofEscaflowne I'm curious as to why Nintendo is releasing this game on a Monday as opposed to their usual Sunday. I'd like to be able to wake up Monday and download it.
Posted: 01/29/13, 18:29:53

Doesn't their digital releases go up at midnight anyway? So start downloading it very early Monday Then it'll be ready in the morning!
