yes.

skills are the key in being a good player. understanding skills that work for your playign style etc. is the key in winning.

It fathoms me taht people don't change armor or weapon in between fights... and anyone that asks you to rush is automatically an idiot.

NEVER rush a gunner

gunners are hard to come by. and they also have way more work to do to prepare for a quest

back to the skills issue, me being a hammer player, i have no shield and i need defense as well as a hard core attack

it is for this reason that the uragaan's Defense (Large) plus the critical draw and punishing draw obtained skills (it took me a lot of work to get those with Defense Large) are perfect for me

I often talk to noobs who just want an armor cause it looks cool and I often have to explain them:

why do you want the armor... don't say cause it's cool. what skills do you need

they rarely know how to answer to that

also, i know kids that want a certain complete set but only have a few pieces so far. for example, they want the uragaan set but they wear only partial lagiacrus sets mixed uragaan parts ( = no skills)

i tell them...

why do you sacrifice the lagi skills? if you don't have a full uragaan set don't wear the fucking parts... just wear a full whatever set you already got, upgrade it, and take advantage of its skills until you work hard enough to get the set which will provide the skills that you want

oh and it seems that new players don't know how to upgrade armors (with armor spheres and such) even when you tell them to.

Thanks Fabz... I mean...my HR says it all - I'm a hammer guy myself - I guess I got really frustrated with the rocks all of a sudden showing up forcing you to change paths mid quest. It's not like a volcano erupted or an earthquake shook the place - they just magically appear. oh well..

I have done One 3 star Quest (1&2 star quests all done) in solo mode. I guess the hard part is knowing what skill to work towards (other then the basics like defense/attack)

I'm going to have to triple check my equipment - I know when I'm on a materials gathering quest, I change armour to a full basic light armour that ups the collection skill.

Smerd has much more learning to do...

I know what you're talking about, and with a path being blocked, but everytime I've done it its been blocked the whole time. Weird.

Yeah I'm sure...I did it three times.... and three times I died on the second run.... I was sooooo pissed. Then fabz made me look like a true noob and told me to pay attention to my skilz haha

Then I did a facepalm..to myself.

The rocks were blocking the 'shortest' route back on the 2nd run.. If you did the run another way you may not have seen the rocks. I forget what the numberd route was but yeah...three big boulders.. oh well.

Tonight is out I think because I have a soccer game to play... but tomorrow night is looking good... 8pm EST (Wednesday)? or later... Yep. I've decided. Wednesday is MH night this week...

That is unless something comes up but I highly doubt it. Wife is out - turn the music up!

Yeah...well the route isn't all that hard..it's the monsters that get in the way....they are all faster then you and when they decide to charge you can't do crap. Even the little bugs are faster then you... I'm going to experiment and pay attention to different skills... but I do have to admit...this is the biggest game I've ever played - there is so much to keep an eye on... and when I reach HR 17 I'll probably be like zero and still not know what's going on...

I'll see what quests I can do tomorow...
