A new entry in the Super Mario series is upon is! We are just days away now from the glorious Super Mario Odyssey! Run, jump, and explore your way through plenty of 'Kingdoms' setup similarly to the great Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine! This is the Mario game everyone has been waiting for!


Check out Nintendo's now-famous Super Mario Odyssey 1:30~ long commercial!


And check out some of the glorious screens as well! Soon you'll be able to use the special mode found inside the game to pause the action at anytime for a photo, but you can also change the angle in anyway way also. Quite a neat feature.

Well if the first 'main' area is anything to go by, this game is going to be great. Lots of exploration sprinkled with some old-school platforming. It's everything Galaxy should have been but wasn't.

I thought I'd explored the first section pretty thoroughly, but apparently there's still a bunch of stuff that I haven't found yet. Awesome.

Agreed. I like that so far (which for me is only the second of the main Kingdoms) that the early stuff appears to be the stuff they showed. So there's SOOO much about this game I have never seen or thought of yet. So exciting!

As stated on Discord, and consistent with what I did with Zelda, I have muted the Discord app (Carlos, I love ya, but, as the kids say, "you do too much.").

I'm also gonna shy away from this thread for the most part, and most likely have to mute/temp block some of you on Twitter. No offense, hopefully.

I just use TweetDeck and muted the #SuperMarioOdyssey hashtag. That'll cut out a lot of stuff I don't want to see right now.

Hooray! The place I ordered from actually did send me a copy! I haven't gotten a notification, and my account on their website seems to be prepared to send me another copy, so I guess I'd better take care of that. But for now: Odyssey!!!

Well, so far my fears that it would feel more like Sunshine than anything else have been unwarranted. Feels more like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy combined, with some bits and pieces from Banjo-Kazooie and Space Station Silicon Valley. Which is an awesome combination.

Picked up my pre-order from Best Buy...and somehow got two of the pre-order coins. I'm gonna keep one bagged and sell it (since we're strapped for cash right now). I'm going to give it a spin in a little while. Woohoo!

Amazon says it'll be delivered today, but the USPS tracking says expect it by next Thursday. Ugh I hope it comes.

Oh SNAP! Now Amazon says it made it to Kent, WA (about 100 miles away) and will be delivered tonight. My boys are staying the night at my mom's house. Man, I can't play it without them. Or can I?

What do you guys think of the motion controls? It's hard for me to reach the right analog stick in split Joy-Con mode, so I've been playing with the Joy-Con grip. I don't see much use for throwing the hat up or down, and the spin move is easy enough to pull off, but I'm missing the homing hat move a little bit--that seems pretty useful!

Loving the game so far though. Cannot wait to play more.

Haven't had any real trouble with the motion controls (but yeah, the throwing up and down hasn't been very useful so far), but I had gotten so used to playing with the pro controller that the joycon sticks felt overly sensitive in the beginning. But it's getting better.

Just picked up the game, but will wait till my wife is home from work to play it together. Or, in this case, "together" in the sense of she wants to watch the game because she likes Mario but not playing platformers.

Game is really great. My only concern right now is that I'm not pacing myself well right now. Don't want it to end too soon! I've played in 4 different Kingdoms and am about to go to my 5th.

Same here, Breath of the Wild was awesome cause I knew it'd never end, with Mario Odyssey knowing it'll be over in however many dozen hours makes the whole thing kinda bittersweet. I'm hoping that by the time I beat it I'm fully satisfied and don't want it go on any longer!

Haven't read or heard anything about how many hours one can expect to spend with the game, but there seems to be a ridiculous amount of content, I think. So many moons, coins and outfits and stuff to get. And I want it all.
