At which speed do you play when you first get a new Mario Kart game? I always start at 50cc and work my way up.

I used to go through the ranks from 50 and work up, but recently I like to start on 100 because I dislike the sluggishness of 50.

Unsure how I will start this time. Depends on if I am playing with the wife or not.

Prior to Mario Kart VIII, always 50cc. With Mario Kart VIII and the fact that trophies carry down, 100cc. Figured I would go ahead and realize how miserable I actually am at racing as I've always been a Battle Mode fan at heart. Seriously, if I can't get Double Decker or Block Fort redone so that I can ride on the walls and ceilings at some point I'll be very disappointed.

50. Sure it's slow and easy, but it's nice practice on the new tracks.

Normally I start with 50cc, and with MK8 I did do the first 5 cups at 50cc. But then I read that I could do 100cc and still earn trophies for 50cc, so that's what I've been doing.

This but 150cc

100 cc is a nice, comfortable start for me, so I enjoy starting there. 50cc just doesn't play as excitingly to me.

Triophies carry down? Huh.

There's incentive to skip to 150cc I guess. I'm like most people though, ease yourself in with 50cc, and work up.

What about Stars do they carry down? I mean I've been slaughtering the courses on 50cc so far and 3-starred everything. If I have to play on the actual difficulty to get the stars anyway, it's not a complete waste of time. Also you get more coins for unlocking stuff...

I typically always went with 50cc, but it felt too slow in Mario Kart 8 for me. I jumped straight to 150cc after doing one cup of 50cc.

I'm also one of the people who used to go from 50 then move on up, but with 8 I jumped straight to 150cc.

I usually start at 50cc. Did it again this time, though now that I know all the unlocks and stuff scale down, I'll probably start with 150cc from now on.

I only bother with 50cc and 100cc if I have to unlock stuff through them or go for full completion. But if I do, I get those out of the way first, starting with 50cc.

Someone told me the stars do not carry down, regardless, I always start at 50cc. It really doesn't take much time to go though all 16 tracks plus I like being able to learn all the nuisances of each track.

@gamewizard65

I haven't payed attention when I haven't gotten 3 stars but I know that earning 3 stars in 150 cc does net you the trophy in all three speeds.

150cc all the way.
