This May, one game will define MULTIPLAYER FUN on Wii U. That game, is Mario Kart 8!


Mario Kart has been a Nintendo staple since it's SNES debut over two decades ago. Only two Nintendo products neglected to have an entry and each entry that has existed is a charming title in someone's eyes. Entries like Double Dash on Gamecube helped push the boundaries of creativity and uniqueness, while more recent titles have continued to refine a core experience. Mario Kart 8 seeks to continue that trend with it's jaw-dropping HD visuals, Anti-gravity racing, and incredibly well-designed tracks.


With all the characters known, the deep customization possibilities to each individual racer, the classic 32-total track count... there's so much to discuss and share and debate. Reviews are just coming in now and while I'll post a few below but they're not all gushing with pride. User Stephen recently made a thread aiming to have a more comprehensive list of reviews available. So... It was a little laggy for me at around noon my time (central), but I was still able to get the code for TWW HD in about ten minutes. I imagine it's gotten busier since then, but keep trying!

So far, so good with MK8. I've done the first three cups (Mushroom, Flower, and retro Shell) on 100cc; th ecourse design is promising, although the tracks feel a bit on the short side to me. Current favorite is probably Toad Harbor or Shy Guy Falls.

Oh I'm definitely down for some online racing tonight, but thanks for your courtesy. It's kind of weird with MK games--I love playing online, but there's something anticlimactic about seeing, say, Rainbow Road for the first time in a random online match. So I try to play a few cups in 1P to get a handle on things and such before taking it online. But then if I want to see all the tracks offline for the first time, I have to rush through the 1P mode! There's no real solution I guess, heh.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to racing tonight for sure. But probably in a few hours, after supper and some more Wind Waker with Sarah~

I entered the PIN code and the site simply refreshed to the main page. I entered the PIN again and it told me the PIN has been used...

I got in and then on the last page of the survey it took me to a down for maintenance page. I hope it doesn't lose my code. I have all 4 games, but I bought my girlfriend her own MK bundle and I'm hoping to get her WWHD and Pikmin 3 out of this.

The teddy buggy is definitely my favorite kart so far.



I love how its headlights are the eyes, though it's also mildly creepy looking, heh.

Slight and probably unnecessary to see clipping... fixed it. Be sure to add the "=740" in your open-img tag. ~DrFinkelstein

My NNID is shiekfreak.

Just finished up the first 4 races in my absolute favorite 50cc...really hate having to go through all these damn GP races solo to unlock stuff.

BUT, the game looks nice, sounds great, and so far is a lot of fun. I can see myself dropping a lot of hours online (if online functions decently).

This game has been a blast so far, my only complaint is that the surround sound and sound volume is pretty weak. Love everything else, but a little more effort in the sound department would have been super.

Me and a buddy spent like 4 hours on the online co-op today with zero issues or lag. Great game!
