I'm almost at the end of the game! Well, I'm assuming there's post-game content, but I'm about to take on the final stage. I was pleasantly surprised by the little fake-out the game does in world "Castle." And the levels are fast, fun, and addictive to play through! I still don't really feel like this is a big step above SM3DL, but I thought SM3DL was great, so I can't really complain. I actually love the "four playable characters" thing a lot more than I thought I would--they feel pretty balanced and I keep alternating between them as I go through the game. Like Zero said, time trial goalposts to hit would be a terrific addition and would likely double the length of the game for me. These stages are quite fun to blast through when you desire. @carlosroxHmm. I'm not sure--I think what makes it difficult is the combination of a static camera, 8-way movement and 3D space. Mario 64 alleviated this issue by having a dynamic camera, a melee attack (punching, etc), and far fewer enemies. Sunshine had the water pack, Galaxy has the spin, and 3D Land at least had stereo 3D. It's not completely unintuitive or whatever, but it still feels like a bit of a crapshoot when I jump on enemy heads. |
