Nintendo World Report - 9

**The following scores are from Official Nintendo Magazine, according to a subscriber at NeoGAF.**

NSMBU (WiiU) - 86

TTT2: WiiU Edition (WiiU) - 88

FIFA 13 (WiiU) - 80

ZombiU (WiiU) - 92

Epic Mickey: The Power of 2 (Wii) - 80

Nintendoland (WiiU) - 90

With ZombiU, they love the fact that it is truly a survival horror game, and a legitimately scary one as well. The attention to detail is apparently fantastic as well, they use the example of the ingame depiction of London Underground stations, featuring status boards, announcements, turnstyles, the round help buttons, etc. They also see the gamepad as being used excellently, for example as a scanner, inventory, controlling security cameras, etc. They have a few minor issues and glitches with the gameplay, but nothing too major. They also wished it had online play and Miiverse functionality. Overall, they claim that it is 'the game you'll be switching on to illustrate why the WiiU is so great'.

Wha... NSMBU looks... good?! And Im not basing this off reviews, I watched gameplay and it looks genuinely fun. It's no Mario World but it looks awesome!

If I like it this much, you guys who liked the other NSMB games must be totally drooling over this!

@GelatinousEncore i liked NSMB2 actually, so i am waiting for this eagerly. It will be the first game I play with my wii u, then i will play zombiu, then i will play cod, then i will try out the beginning of darksiders. Darksiders is the game i plan on marathoning during my thanksgiving break from work.

I'm not the biggest NSMB fan, but I'm really looking forward to this one. It looks like a lot of fun and I really like that they went back to the world design of Super Mario World.

Like Scrawnton though, my gut feeling is that Darksiders 2 is going to be the first game I really put large chunks of time into next weekend.

I bought 15 launch games, counting my pack-in NintendoLand. I'll be all over the place on Miiverse.

@GelatinousEncore
Yep... looks like it might be the best Mario game ever made.

Happy with the initial reviews so far, looking forward to reviews of Black Ops and Zombi U now to see if it makes 4 games purchased for Christmas. The only problem I have is that I said I would only take on one game at a time with Wii U. Damn you compelling launch lineups.

@Zero
Yes. I held off on every multiplatform game that interested me that I would've bought on the other platforms if I wasn't getting a Wii U, and also got all the major exclusives. I'd been reserving and paying them off for several months, so it wasn't such a big hit. Plus, until very recently I didn't really expect that many of them to actually make the launch. So my final launch list is:

NSMBU
NintendoLand
ZombiU
Assassins Creed 3
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Madden 13
NBA 2K13 (a little confused on this, but Amazon shows it as in stock on Wii U right now, so I assume it made launch)
Batman Arkham City Armored Edition
Darksiders 2
Epic Mickey 2
Skylanders Giants
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Ninja Gaiden 3 (yeah, I'm still getting it)

This will be by far the most I've ever got on any one day.

One thing in the original post, the link to the 1up NSMBU review is actually a link to their Nintendo Land review.

@DeputyVanHalen

Thanks, fixed it.

EDIT: Our first ZombiU score is in! (if the source at NeoGAF is to be believed) Check out the OP.

For those interested, Epic Mickey 3DS apparently got a 60 :(

@TriforceBun
Concerning ZombiU, I hope other reviews are similar. I really want this game to be great.

As for Mickey on 3DS, well, if the demo reflects the total package, that's not so surprising. Sad though.

Damnit how did they mess up Epic Mickey on 3DS?! That should have been a layup for those guys!

My fingers are really crossed for Zombi U. C'mon Ubi, redeem thyself for Red Steel!

Yeah.... after playing the abysmal demo I'm really wondering if I still want to review the game for NW... I guess it's my duty to contribute! (I just wish it wasn't $40)

Ha ha man you can definitely switch to something else if you want, don't buy a game just to review it for us!

@Zero
But I want to play it too, I was really looking forward to it, a sprite based game by the same guys who made the game your icon is from! Even though the demo sucked, mostly due to that horribly boring intro (couldn't Disney have shelled out for some CG or animation or something besides five minutes of boring-ass text and still images). The actual game could have some cool stuff it in. Maybe I will see if I can get a deal on the retail game.

@deathly_hallows

Gosh, that's sad...

I'm happy to see ZombiU is turning out to be a great game! I look forward to seeing all of your impressions while I sit back and play my safe, non-terrifying games.

For what it's worth, Neal at NWR is loving Power of Illusion. Though he did tweet that it's looking like it will take about 7 hours to see everything in the game.
